What activities would you occupy yourself w/ as a child, confined to a room several months (Exercise- not permitted. Learning material- allowed)?

🤔 For myself, as a naturally highly physically active and intellectually inquisitive person, I’d find the limitation intolerable. My primary objective would be to find subtle ways of merging education with steady physical activity, in ways that do not call much attention and do not disturb other people.

Some ideas 👇🏻

map tennis ball 🎾 post a map on the wall and toss the tennis ball at continents countries cities etc The physical aspect can easily be explained by physical connection aiding in memory retention.

katate agencies. There is a strong philosophical foundation to martial arts. You can also exurbs quite a bit of focused energy with stances alone. Plus sneak in sone higher exertion on the low down.

Dance reheated to your heritage. It’s not exercise it’s cultural appreciation & edification — no one will want to be accused of discrimination. Lucky for me I’m Ukrainian & Slavic dance is full of exhausting moves that require a lot of muscle effort. You can’t skim your way through , you’ll fall.

Learning language by putting pictures in one sure of room, phrases on the other— turning into a kind of “spin & dart” when you are moving from image to phrases.

Study history through theater and create lively characters. It can produce quite a lot of adrenaline which can feel calming after the fact.

Singing in the shower, tho obviously not exercise, can be surprisingly intense if you put your all into it. Who can complain that you want to stay in good form for choir practice.

Musical instrument again not exercise, but there is a physical satisfaction after a few hours practice.

Waking back and forth with a book on my head— good posture is a worthy goal.

I would also just skip any time I had some moments to myself.

… I think there are a lot of ways to be creative when you need to move but have to be subtle about it.

After all that time a long walk unbothered, would be the most delicious event ever 🥰

Disclaimer: This was not Covid inspired and lol please don’t get caught up in why the rules are the rules— just try to be creative with the activities 😃

Hey forgot to add! No electronics sorry I know kinda drastic for some 😬 and we’re talking age range of 9-11.

I want you to imagine what you think you might have thought of doing back then. Not what you think you’d like to do now. I think for many of us few months if not being bothere doesn’t sound like a bad guy. Hits harder for growing children— tho some of you may have liked the calm solitude. I was never fond of being stationary. Movement was Inspiring & my favorite part of life.
