Just heard a report that 90% of the ingredients to make Amoxicillin comes from China! You know the drug that is in short supply to treat these children that have the respiratory infection.
How did this happen?

Billy Clinton signed NAFTE! Ross Perot warned of the giant sucking sound of the businesses leaving the US.
Joey was in politics and held the door open while taxing and regulating the businesses out of the country!
Chinese people come here and steal manufacturing secrets while the colleges educate them.
Then they take over our companies and move them over to China!
Makes you wonder where the money goes!

We rely on China for a lot more than our pharmasuticals. Without China, we couldn't get computer parts either.

This is so wrong. Did we get baby formula from China too when we had a shortage of that as well?

What worries me, is that I don't trust that China would put ingredients in these antibiotics that are harmful and maybe even lethal. What would stop them from doing that? Who is in charge in China of overseeing medications for safety?

I also wish people in America 🇺🇸 would get off their asses and go to work making these types of things in America and become more self sufficient. Can Americans make anything anymore? This is crazy!!

We need our people to pull up their boot straps, toughen up and help to put America in charge of America.

We are a bunch of wah wah's here in America. Sure, just stay home and let other countries do your work that you're not doing. And here we will just sit with our thumbs up our asses and not contribute to your own country. So what if babies are packing the hospitals on their deathbeds because they don't have enough amoxicillin to make babies and adults get better.

It just dawbed on me today that American's should be ashamed of themselves for being so fricken lazy with an entitlement complex.

If I busted my ass for 30 years, doing my part, than anyone can. They just won't.

No wonder why men and women hate each other anymore. Who would want to be with a person that isn't doing something to make America great again 🇺🇸.

A mentality that engaging in open trade with China will encourage the growth of democratic attitudes and less authoritarianism there. That didn't work out (not that the economic isolation imposed on Castro did much better), but it DID allow for cheap labor and resource importation from a country that has no labor or environmental laws.

Want to know how it happened? Ask the people you meet how much money they spent on Amazon in the last year. How often they check a product's country of origin before buying it. The tariff policies of the politicians they voted for. People bitch about billionaires, but they don't put in the legwork to PREVENT the horrors they despise.

This is a huge issue and unfortunately it's just one example of the dependance of the United States on a country that is not our friend. It's terrible that we've allowed this to happen because of bad trade policy.

The common cold, influenza, covid, etc. are all viral infections. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis which ultimately leads to the death of the bacteria. Being that viruses don't have cell walls, taking Amoxicillion for a typical "respiratory infection" is about as effective as buying a new pair of shoelaces. Unless you have bacterial pneumonia or something like that, you shouldn't be taking it for a respiratory infection.
