Why does my dandruff smells bad?

Like its an old oil. I have seborrheic dermatitis I was diagnosed in 2017 and my dandruff just smells like dried used oil and the back of my ear always has an oily and it smells like cottage cheese

I tend to have bad dandruff and for some reason I have a smell behind my ears that has a smell of musky/ fishy odor, and I'm very clean with my body and appearance.

I don't know what to think, I read there is sweet glands behind the ears so who knows

excess oil and dead skin makes the dandruff smell bad.

It’s a mixture of dead skin, scalp oil and possibly fungus plus any medications being applied topically to the scalp.


It’s not going to smell like roses.
