Distill your water, you can buy concentrated seawater to put the minerals back in it and improve the taste. The female hormones from birth control do not get filtered out of the water any other way, even with reverse osmosis. Avoid plastic... Even if it says it is BPA-free because it most likely still has BPS or BPF leeching into your food and drinking supply. Avoid seed oils and soy.
Start cooking your own food from scratch, this is also to avoid the same stuff as listed above. Try not to indulge in alcohol or sweets. Sugar or corn syrup is probably even worse for you than alcohol in my opinion. The beer I have in front of me is 5% alcohol, and looking at the sodas in the fridge... It's 96% added sugars, so it's basically sugar, water and a dash of sodium (2%). It will also give you a fatty liver and fuck with your insulin, causing insulin resistance... which leads to obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Sugars can be slipped into everything (they are sneaky about it). It is in my whole wheat bread, in most of my canned foods, and even my Starbucks Expresso roast Ground coffee says it has Molasses (A form of sugar) and "caramelized sugar" in it but doesn't say how much. Alcohol you can avoid easily, but avoiding sugars is easier said than done.
Physical exercise is important. When I lived in Japan I got plenty of walking done in a day... here in the states, it's usually very car-dependent to get anywhere unless you happen to live in a place that developed before the time cars came around... those places are usually overpriced. It is often too dangerous here to walk a couple of blocks to a store and back here in America as well. So invest in exercise equipment to mimic that missing physical exercise.
