Nurse here. I've worked in the ICU my whole career. Honestly, it is COVID. How unprepared we were and how unable we were to stop it when it took hold. Watching a person come in on comfort flow, then get moved to bipap until they can't tolerate it and intubate them. Then prone them out, give them sedatives, and paralytics. Then they die.
Over and over again. And still to this day. That is what makes it scary.

  @Tstrbrainer Yep. Both patients I've had in the last 2 weeks have been unvaccinated. One just got moved to bipap and the other has been on a vent for a week.

Prion diseases of the brain that are highly contagious when airborne. You can not operate on the brain if someone has prion disease and you can not cremate someone who has prion disease.

Physical diseases do not scare me that much. It is either you recover and live or you die. Simple! It is easier to judge and reach to a sound conclusion as well.
What I am wary from are the mental diseases which are really difficult to even notice. And it is too late till the disease is found.

  I forgot to mention that there are some diseases where you are neither alive nor dead. Just hanging in between. I personally think that to be the worst.

  My parents tell me to not take the body I have for granted. They tell me to go visit any hospital ICU and see for myself. Especially cancer treatment hospitals.
  
  To be honest, I have sat beside a dead body many times. An unknown body, in a hospital. So I know what it is like.
  The patients around the body, you can see that they see their near future in that body. It is scary at first.
