So Jennifer, here are my little thoughts on this matter. I don’t think happiness can heal the body BUT…. Worry and stress can destroy the body. The body is an amazing machine with the ability to heal itself. I as many people have seen people die from stress and worry. Remove the stress and worry and what you have is a happy person who’s body can heal itself. This is why I think religion is amazing and necessary in a persons life. A true believer doesn’t fear death, and the believer tend to have less stress and worry because they believe God won’t give them more then they can handle. So does happiness heal? No, but happiness is necessary to a healthy life and body.
Well the body has natural self-healing abilities that work better when we feel happy, so in summary: Yes.
Thanks for MHO!
People who aren't happy tend to turn to things that harm them such as excessive alcohol or junk food. They also become more sedentary giving up exercise.
Happiness just motivates people to take better care of themselves.
