Usually, eventually, yes, but I try to pull the weeds if I can, then they're gone.
It's the deep-rooted weeds like dandelions that may need weed-killers.
I don't like looking at the dying weeds waiting for them to get crunchy enough to sweep them away.
Most weeds pull out very easily.
Whichever way you like doing it is up to you. 😊👍
They're really stiff to get out. Those long dry looking stringy thin ones.
Tried pulling it and even cutting it but they're quite strong
With a mini pruner thing
Some weeds can be tougher than others.
If you're rejuvenating an older lawn or area that hasn't been taken care of in a while, it can be a bit tough to get it the way you want it. Once you get the old, tough, nasty weeds out, then new ones are much easier to pull.
It takes some work sometimes, but a nice yard is worth the work to me.
Good luck to you.
Will weed killer work on the tougher weeds?
I don't know where you are or what kind of weeds you have, but I'd say yes, generally speaking, weed killer will work on tough weeds.
Sometimes they might need additional applications of weed killer to do the job.
You'll learn about them as you work to get rid of them.
That's what I found in my case.

Looks like this
Yes, ... however depending on the type you will also get cancer and/or poison the environment.
Sometimes its best to put the work in and pull them out manually, or maybe just let them grow.
