Please Reply. NHS medical negligence and miscommunication during my surgery beed advice about the procedure I underwent but left half complete?

Hi everyone so I was put on a waiting list to have a open septorhinoplasty at a specific hospital with a surgeon but at that hospital no slots were available so my case was handed over to another hospital and a different surgeon did my surgery. He did a closed septorhinoplasty for me and since then 3 months on I still can’t breath and I still have lots of mucus in my nose and postnatal drip , it’s hard to push mucus out of my nose , I can’t breath at night and stay awake. My nose tip when I pout is still bent pushing towards the right. So today I had an appointment with my original doctor not the one who did my surgery and he said as he was looking at the notes , “ they forgot during the procedure to put a graft in my nose and also to clip the muscle underneath , so it wasn’t don’t properly and he also said both nostrils are still collapsing but he said the job they did was good by straightening it but they missed out 1-2 things and as he was reading the notes he also realised they never took into account I also have facial palsy which wasn’t on the notes so half the Information was missing and now I am left with a the tip of my nose bent and can’t breath and 3 months of my time recovering was for nothing and I missed out on college. He did say to me “ it’s easy to blame someone but they did do good but missed out a point “. My family feel they completely had miscommunications as well as the surgeon him self said it too and didn’t do the surgery properly and now I want to make a case against the hospital as I’m left with worse symptoms and I’m awake all night and can’t breath keep needing to wash my mouth to spit mucus out and wanted to know what do you guys think is my case strong enough to forward for compensation?

Also I wanted to say he said we will see me again in 4 months and gave my spray to use which I use my self at home then see what can he do further but I feel they didn’t know what they were doing.

Also he said the mucus I have is also because of my allergies but I’ve been using sprays and no good has it done for me.

Been here before. Still dealing with it. Sometimes I just push my nose to the side to breath. They didn't forget my graft, but it still came out crooked. I had polyps, bone spurs, unknown tissue growth (benign) and numerous fractures, so my nose was a mess.

It took about a year to recover to 90%. The first few months I was still blowing out crazy stuff, and having to "purge" scab tissue. Squeeze bottle style neti pot was a lifesaver. I'm guessing the doc gave you fluticazone or however it's spelled. It will help a bit with the mucus and swelling. Stay way tf away from oxymetazoline and propylhexedrine. Unless a medical professional says otherwise. Not my place to contradict them, but if they say to use either one, please do some research. Also not my place, but there are dietary chances that will help with allergies and inflammation. Avoiding junk food, alcohol and nicotine was pretty important for me. And narcotic pain medication. That stuff causes some bad congestion for me when it wears off. Known as "non-allergic rhinitis" or something like that. I don't know, I'm not a doctor.

Anyways, I'd be pissed off to if I were you, but it might just take time, patience and some lifestyle changes. And a lawsuit or two... Wait is it possible to sue the NHS or are they exempt?

Well I live in the US and I was thinking that you might not be allowed to file a clinical negligence claim against the NHS surgeon. However, I learned something new today and that is that you can sue the NHS for clinical negligence as they call it in the UK. I am sorry that you are having to go through this.

In a nutshell yes. It's not negligence it's a total fuck up. I'd look at getting a solicitor that specialises in medical cases.

That’s how I feel too but ok the other hand I feel bad that I am gonna sue them maybe because I’m just a religious person and decent but they really broke my hopes my recovery I thought I was finally gonna breath and have a straight nose but turns out I’m suffering even more it’s heart breaking and the worst part is a still feel bad got the nhs.

The NHS has financial arrangements for this kind of stuff in place. Doctors are actually allowed to kill a quota of patients through mistakes so it's no big deal.

You need to consult a lawyer that specializes in medical ptocedure malpractice often these lawyers have medical experience and can speak the same language as the doctors. He or she will know if you have a viable case.

Hi sir, if only I was that wealthy I have spent most of my life being on and off work due to my health I actually wanted to do my accounting but I had to hold it because of the surgery now I have to pause my education again because it’s the sleepless nights and it’s also affecting my family.

What was the surgery supposed to fix? Did you need this surgery? If not then.. You should of paid for it your self and you would have had better care..

I actually needed the surgery due to having a deviated septum and my nostrils were collapsing I had air way obstruction in nose.
