Why isn’t he brushing his teeth?

My boyfriend and I stay together over the weekend

sometimes Friday till Monday morning or just Saturday until Monday morning. He is 31 and I’m 29 we usually chill have a drink and watch a show or a movie and eat but I’ve notice that sometimes he doesn’t brush his teeth either in morning or at night. He seem me brushing my teeth and doesn’t do the same ( sometimes he does ) unless I tell him “ let’s brush out teeth” it bothers me because hygiene is everything to me but I’ve never told him anything.

He also hasn’t gone to the dentist in forever and he says because of his insurance. I just hope he goes get a cleaning soon

He probably doesn’t think he gets bad breath. Of course, I’m sure he’s wrong about that.

I once dated a guy who stayed with me for about a week without taking any showers during that time. He explained to me that he never gets body odor. However, he smelled horrible after the first few days or so.

This is disgusting. He will have rotting food and all kinds of volatile sulfur compounds in his mouth. Kissing him could spread those bacteria to your gums...

No amount of you telling him to brush his teeth is going to make a difference because the issue is much deeper than that. It's likely he's not brushing them at home either. To be honest, even brushing isn't enough and most of the toothpaste people use are completely useless..

Hygiene just isn't a priority for some people.

I know that when I was extremely depressed, I didn't brush my teeth, but that was because I actively hated myself and had no qualms about doing whatever I could to not take care of myself.

I understand some people don’t care about skin care or any other things but brushing teeth is important. I know I can’t make him brush his teeth everytime I brush mine unless I’m always telling him “ let’s brush our teeth”. I can only wonder if he brush his taste at night everyday when he at home.

He's probably not brushing them at home. Some people just don't care. For me, I took regular showers and what not. I just didn't brush my teeth.

Tbh I don't brush my teeth but I use mouth wash. I have depression, poor sleeping and eating habits and an eating disorder
