The other day one of my guy friends argued saying that he only has good skin cuz of good genetics and that testosterone had nothing do with it.
So anyone has info about that?

Well one thing's for sure, higher testosterone levels make you less attractive to @BoobSlayer because it antagonizes prolactin and estrogen at the breast tissue.
But when making the poem
I mentioned "her voice is husky and she has a thick skin" both literally and figuratively.
Being thick skinned as a result of high testosterone... I know when I eat cooked roosters, especially when they're at least one year old, they have a very very thick skin, it's like a completely different animal compared to the RoosterBreast. Hens on the other hand, have a really thin skin even if they're 6 years old.
I read that testosterone makes skin more oily and therefore thick. And testosterone while being a precursor to DHT, is still a precursor to estrogen in a sense that aromatase turns it into estrogen yes, that's the pathway the chemical in the water atrazine turns the frogs gay. So estrogen being essential for bones and skin, is dependent on testosterone first, because men don't have ovaries to produce it directly.
In short, testosterone changes your skin dramatically and it makes it more masculine which is hot for women. High estrogen levels do too, making the skin more feminine and hot to look and touch for men.
On their own, neither estrogen or testosterone at high levels automatically give you acne or any other skin conditions.
People with low testosterone probably have nutrient deficiencies and shit, causing crappy skin, but it's probably not a direct result of low testosterone.
Thanks for the MHO! 🙂
Indeed, it can because testosterone is a hormone that is present in both males and females, but it is typically at much higher levels in males. Testosterone plays a role in the development of male physical characteristics, such as muscle mass and body hair, but it can also affect the skin.
One way that testosterone can affect the skin is by increasing oil production. This can lead to acne, especially in adolescents who are going through puberty and experiencing a surge in testosterone levels. In addition to acne, increased oil production can also lead to oily skin and clogged pores.
Testosterone can also contribute to male pattern baldness, which is a condition that causes hair loss on the scalp. This is because testosterone is converted into a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which can damage hair follicles and cause them to shrink, leading to hair loss.
If you are concerned about the effects of testosterone on your skin, it's a good idea to talk to a healthcare provider or a dermatologist.
So basically, testosterone are made of fat molecules
Men have thicker, more oily skin, with larger pores. Also a different Ph level than women. Testosterone likely plays a role in that, but not necessarily the cause of good skin.
Yeah, i understand now, but striking off the fact (testosterone plays a role ) is not justified.
Even genes and how you treat your skin matters too i guess?
Men tend to have great skin on their faces, maybe their faces produce less oils and they don't get hormonal breakouts like women, but the rest of their body is terrible. Ever seen a man's back? Upper arms? Back of legs? The amount of men in my life I've told to fucking exfoliate 😂
No its because we women use so many products which makes our skin addicted to it and stop producing the stuff ourself.
But in today's world (urban), u can't go outside without applying anything. Pollution?
Im not saying dont apply anything. Just use one cleanser and one face cream before bed. And change your pillow case. Your body will start producing what you need by itself.
And cutting out gluten and diary can be good if you are allergic. It takes months for gluten to get out of your body cause its a long term infection. It took me 4 months to get rid of my acne when I was younger and it was due to that:)

Both have input into the equation as RoosterBreast explained quite well.
In out 8th grade "perfect grad" feature, I was listed as "best skin" for the guys. Then I hit high school. I got acne like expressway bumps in the the summer heat. Put all kinds of junk on it- no luck. Three years later, disappeared. go figure.
Too much of it can cause acne.
Anyway is your friend getting his testosterone levels checked daily or something? How does he know he has good testosterone levels? Maybe he does but that a rather quick self diagnosis and assumption.
He might have good genetics. But it’s more than that. But also your diet, stress management, exercise and hygiene will impact your complexion among other things.
If anything high test does the opposite. Men on TRT that is their baseline test production and then some - it's common for their skin to get pimples, redness and other skin imperfections.
I'm not a dermatologist or endocrinologist, but I'd argue testosterone has a negative impact on skin health *aesthetic wise*
I've got high testosterone. 800+. I've got to much body hair and beard hard to shave. Oily skin and still get pimples.
Some people with low-t are lucky.
So it's not entirely based on testosterone ig?
Sometimes but not all the time
Girls have way better skin than guys. What are you on about
Melanin helps skin though. Black people have amazing skin
We have to use shitload of skin care products every year mah guy, my question was " does testosterone has anything to do with skin's health"
well Justin Beiber and a lot of male K-pop stars have good skin but they are lacking in testosterone
No, it depends on oiliness of your skin. If testosterone was affecting that, dermatologists would prescribe it as a cure. They prescribe accutane (vitamin A) instead if by bad skin you mean acne.
Guys have good skin? You are so wrong Ma'am!
If you see a guy with good skin, its only cause he invests time in doing skin care , which is a good thing of course!
Really? This dude told me that he has good skin cuz good genetics and that he told me he doesn't use any skin care?
Oh.. some guys would be genetically good... but most guys have bad skin if they don't put in time in skin care
High levels of testosterone on women can cause facial hair.
Yeah, male hormone
I think genetics helps as does good hygiene, using sunscreen, staying hydrated and exercising.
I don;t know too much about testosterone but as horny 18 yr old I think I have plenty
I don't know because men are full of testosterone and it looks like they have less skin issues than women in general. When women have high testosterone their skin turns to shit
Testosterone doesn't affect skin directly. Skin is affected by what you do to it or how you treat it.
True, it has nothing to do with it at all?
On skin I mean*
Cleaning and moisturizing are what make skin look good. Tanning and pigmentation are genetic
Lol actually estrogen is the hormone that makes the skin beautiful, testosterone actually is bad for the skin
i'm not so sure. but what i do know is that men don't constantly plug their pores with chemicals. so maybe that's why their skin is better.
Certainly. Just as estrogen affects the skin in women, testosterone affects the beauty of the skin in men. A man's healthy diet affects the body as a whole. The endocrine system is an example.
But this dude I told u about in the description ain't accepting and he's saying, testosterone is just a myth.
Might have to do with collagen. I think men produce more. I'd double check me on that though
It’s just not putting shit on our face everyday.
Just feel your ass. And know why we put our face in it.
I don't know I have low T levels and my skins is rather dirty and scarred with lots of black heads
Guys have thicker skin, along with bigger pores. It keeps their skin moisturized.
And yes, testosterone is responsible for it.
@Slingblade1126 Yes, as far as I know.
Testosterone gives you thick skin. But it also lowers collagen production, I've heard.
Testosterone causes acne.
Genetics and youth.
