Have you ever had knee manipulation done?

Some of you know I had to have a knee implant done. My knee wasn't bending all the way and as fast as most people would be able to; I was only doing 92 degrees in bending.

So a doctor told me about knee manipulation, where they put you under, and the doctor comes in after you're asleep, numbs the knee with an injection, and then bends your leg, stretching the scar tissue and cracking it as well--so that you are bending it again as normal. The doctor was able to bend it back to 130 degrees--something I couldn't do when that scar tissue felt like a tight band around my knee. I was very opposed to this at first and super nervous--but it turned out to be okay. Had this done yesterday and I must follow up with exercises and a few more weeks of physical therapy so that I don't go back to where I was. The entire thing took all of about 10 minutes after anesthesia. <whew> it will be good to walk normally again--I have been in a walker for over a month.

Years ago I had knee surgery from a football injury.
It never was all that great after, but it was better so I put up with it.
I've heard of people getting it done and had a friend had it done to her knee to break up the scar tissue, but like you said they have to put you under because it is so painful.
It seemed to help her out.
I don't think the pain lasted too long.
Myself I did the complete knee replacement, it was pretty bad, but now it is great.
Hopefully you will be good as new.

Yes! I had the complication after the knee replacement when the scar tissue formed and was not letting me bend. The doctor sent me pictures after the manipulation was done--my knee was able to go back 140 degrees, not 130 as I thought I saw. I couldn't believe the pictures, but it was my leg, still bruised after the knee implant a month ago, bending all the way back.
The scary thing is that if you don't keep with the PT exercises and bending, the scar tissue will grow back, so I'm doing all I can to prevent that from happening.
I'm glad your knee is better. Knees are so important, especially if you're into sports.

Lately I have been craving carbs, which I rarely eat, but I have been having mostly fish and lots of other proteins. It helps with building the muscle back again, especially the quads.
