Have you ever injured your knee?

A fellow member here (won't mention names) is refusing to get a damaged knee looked at.
If any of you have any "knee horror stories" I'd appreciate you sharing them. 🍻 Maybe public pressure will help convince them to go to a doctor already. lol

I'm currently unable to play Rugby, or do any serious workouts because of a knee injury I sustained the other day Db. The X Ray showed up as a slight fracture and I should stay off it, and go back in 4 weeks.

I never mentioned it because, well it's not something I'm proud of but as far as not going to the doc goes? That is crazy!

If it is something serious and you don't get it looked at, you can end up with chronic pains throughout your life. It can affect your walking, infection or sepsis can set in and they would have to cut the leg off.

I'm sorry to hear this. Please listen. I've known too many fractures turn into brakes.
I can understand why you haven't said anything then. And I think this person feels the same way. You are a great help with feedback.
Agreed on chronic pains. Which is why I am be drastic here.

You wouldn't be much of a friend to this 'fellow member' if you didn't insist they went and got it looked at.. A simple X ray will put their mind at rest too. That is worth it's weight in gold!

yeah, I used to play basketball competitively and I landed on my knee but ignored it for like months, then when I went to get it checked out it was fractured 😂

apparently it wasn’t fractured but since I kept jumping on that knee it got worse

I have landed on my knee during a fall. Hurt pretty bad. Pain went away quickly, let's say a few days or a week, but at the moment itself it really sucked.

@sirderpsalot123 I'm sure Miah didn't want her surgery either. But she realizes if she wanted to keep functioning knees she had to take care of them.

I ignored it and it went from a minor injury to a tear, and that's when surgery became necessary.

Yep, launched myself off a sled and knee first into a tree at 30mph when I was in highschool. Never had it looked at, totally shot now. Should probably see a doctor myself 🙈

Several of my friends walk more oddly than me because although I have a prosthetic below the knee I still have both knees and was always careful with them.

I watched a man doing downhill on a mountain bike (youtube) fall and dislocate his hip. They had to put him under and took five people to put it back in.

It was an old martial arts injury, I made a stupid choice. Thankfully i went to the hospital to get it sorted.

it hurt after it was fixed worse than the initial dislocation. I couldn't walk for like a month. at least not without assistance.

I was at work and I was helping my supervisor load up supplies the company uses at every event we had into a trailer. We were almost done and he was on the forklift lifting up this massive box that weighed about a thousand pounds.

He had it so high up that he couldn’t see anything and was simply being guided by my verbal instructions.

Well… he didn’t hear me until I was screaming “STOP STOP STOP” because he ended up crushing my knee between the box and the one below it. Fortunately he stopped but had he kept going my bones would’ve began to break.
