Anyone had leg correction surgery caused by knock knee?

Hello,
I’ve got knock knee (Genu valgum, commonly called "knock-knee", is a condition in which the knees angle in and touch each other when the legs are straightened. Individuals with severe valgus deformities are typically unable to touch their feet together while simultaneously straightening the legs.) I’ve got an appointment with my doctor to talk about the operation but I want to know what the recovery is like as I’ve got a 3 year old who is full of life and I don’t want it to effect massively? If that makes any kind of sense?
Recovery stories will be great!

Since I m a medical student I studied that, for adults, being slightly knock kneed is a normal variation in alignment; many adults are somewhat knock kneed. This is rarely a problem, and SURGERY or PHYSICAL THERAPY is seldom undertaken to correct it.
REMEDY:
orthotics—foot supports, made of foam, leather, plastic, fiberglass, graphite, or some combination, that fit in your shoes—can reduce the increased risk of exercise-related injury by correcting the structural imbalance.
Treatment for genu valgum depends on the cause and severity of your symptoms.
For example, if rickets are causing your knock-knees, your doctor will likely prescribe vitamin D and calcium supplements to help restore your levels.
Your doctor may also prescribe prescription-strength nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs if over-the-counter options, like naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), aren’t providing relief.
Soo, if u don't want have surgery or any drug u can heal by consulting a physical therapist (if condition is not serious enough)

This must be quite painful right? Just make sure that you will be able to walk and run around normally after the surgery and what the possible side effects are. Just an assumption but I'm sure your spine is having to compensate a lot for your legs right now? If you correct your knees will your spine then realign? These are the things I'd ask. Good luck!

Honestly, it’s not painful at all until it’s freezing cold and if I’m walking up hills. Hopefully this hasn’t affected my spine, but I do have a bit of hump back definitely going to ask about my spine too

I’m sorry but knock knees are unattractive. It doesn’t mean touching knees but like that picture you have and it’s unattractive. I hear guys making fun of girls with legs like that.
You can read in Google how the recovery is and I’m assuming that if people who have knee replacement surgery can run in 6-8 weeks that your recovery won’t be too difficult

Do you actually think I got knock knee thinking it’s attractive? Who actually thinks it’s attractive no one? How stupid can you be with that. Also I know what it’s like, and I’d probably have to wait for my 3 year old to get a little older for the surgery.

Do you live alone? If you have help then you should be fine to have surgery

I have! Only my right leg (as it was more severe, the 2nd worst my surgeon had ever seen) was operated on, but both my knees were knocked. The correction from the one leg actually caused the other one to get straighter as well! It was a truly beautiful and magical thing to watch.

I've that in my Physical Education academic course. People with knock knees are generally advised to sleep with a pillow kept in between their knees. You should be fine after the operation I guess.

I have flat feet and I might have knock knees because I used to walk very crooked and had special shoes that I never wore

Yeah. People with flat foot are given specially arched shoes/slippers. You should really consider wearing them. It's slow but will bring back the arch of your feet
