If I can't get to sleep when I first hit the sack, I get up and maybe take Benadryl, but that has the after effect of a hang over in the morning. Other than that, I get up and go in and watch TV until I can doze off.

I dont' know if you are an amateur athlete or not, but when I ran and competed at a high level, I found that if I did a hard training run and then tried to sleep, I could not get to sleep for hours afterward.
