I did a spin class last week. It was the first time I did an actual class at the gym. Usually, I do my own thing.
I like doing my own thing usually, just because I can construct a workout around my desired outcome (high intensity interval training focusing on either a certain element (arms, legs, etc.) or full body, etc.). Also, the act of being able to listen to your own music, and focus just on yourself and not having to socialize can be great.
But, I do really like classes for the energy, the support/people, and for the activity itself. I love Rumble Boxing lately and rowing and spin classes too. Making new friends at the gym is always fun. The cost can get up there for me tho, so Ill typically do these once a month.

Yup when I was a personal trainer working at the gym I took classes from different instructors at the gym so that I had a better idea of how they felt, what they entailed what sort of stuff they did and the like so that if someone was interested about them and the instructor wasn't available I could fill them in on what the class was like or if I was talking with a member and I felt like they would like it I would encourage them to try the class out.
Likewise that instructor of that class might pass members looking for training to me because I was passed some members to them.
Also I instructed a few classes a couple of times as well so taking classes prior kind of helped me with that.

I´d say no because I mostly have been to gyms that are small and therefore don´t have classes. I prefer gyms that are smaller because I prefer to train at places where I don´t know anyone and I sometimes go to the gyms that are harder to get or to find because I don´t want to meet anyone I know.

+1 yI have done a class or two, but only once and I never did them again.
I tried a cardio box class, but while it was a fun workout, I prefer actual combat to... Aggressive dancing. 🤣
I'm a solo gym goer much of the time. I like working at my own pace and intensity.11 Reply

+1 yMany years ago, I took a spin class which was later followed by a zumba class.
Several years later, I led my own spin and zumba classes.
In all honesty, I don't like going to gyms anymore.
Now, I work out at home instead.

Especially when they're the only reason you're in the program to begin with. I've seen too many people hurt by bad trainers, but this guy was known for helping people recover and train safely
