My muscles are really sore from my first intense work out, I can’t even bend. Should I keep working out even if I’m in pain? How does my body adapt

It's absolutely normal to feel super sore after working intensely first time or after a long time
Your body is just not used to it so you kind of "shocked" the body
I remember once in my teens my arms got stuck at 90° not being able to extend for 3-4 days when I lifted after long time
And NO...DO NOT workout out if you are sore/in pain... that would be overtraining and would be harmful
It's important to note that you don't grow/gain in the gym rather it happens at home when you rest.. so it's crucial that you feed your body well and give it a good rest until it's fully recovered
Eventually, I promise you won't feel this much soreness/pain after workouts
I wouldn't recommend doing anything but normal everyday movements & light dynamic stretching if you're sore. Being sore is an indication that your muscles still haven't recovered from the microtears. I used to workout even when I was sore & it led to improper form & over training. Which then led to certain muscles overcompensating & injury forming because of it. Not fun at all.
yess your body will get used to it. I run 3 miles everyday I dont even feel it the next day. But when I do 6 I feel it the next day bc I'm not used to it. Your body will adapt. Just dont do it everyday give yourself at least one day to spare
I did give myself a day to spare so I tried again today but I’m still in a lot of pain I feel like I might get a muscle pulled when I try to bend
Can’t even walk straight I have a limp. And I really want to work out
go a little softer. Little lighter on the weights little slower on the treadmill. Dont over over exert yourself. Stretch before. HYdrate. Stretch after too.
Thank you 🙏
