I worked out in a gym and it was across the street from the local high school. Once in a while the wrestling coach would bring kids in the sauna so they could make weight.

Even if it is just water, as you claim, your body needs to learn how to get rid of it.

A good way is to eliminate salt and strongly salted, ready-to-use spices. Add some walks or runs and muscle movements should slowly remove unnecessary water.

But don't expect a miracle in a week.

If it were actual water retention you could do that in a day, but It's very unlikely you have 7 lbs of water retention on your gut. Why do you feel like that's what it is?
