I have bipolar II disorder and I've had a few. Usually tied to antidepressants sending me into a manic state. Sometimes, just had a manic episode. I've ended up in a hospital twice.
Since I have a good psychiatrist and take my medication, I've had nothing bad recently. Probably was 20 years ago or more. When I was first diagnosed, I didn't want to take medication and thought, erronenously, that I could control myself and my illness. Foolishness, ignorance, naivete', hubris.
The sad part about mental illness, is you are an experiment. You have to keep trying different medications to see what works. No single med works well for everybody. No single therapist/psychiatrist works for every patient. You have to be your own advocate and have to monitor yourself, have friends and family keep an eye on you too.
Sometimes, you dont realize when you're own an upward or downward spiral. But when people you love notice you're not doing well, LISTEN to them. Especially, to your doctor.
Get good sleep, eat well, take your meds, exercise. Keep yourself even.
About a month ago. Not like a real meltdown. But to everyone else it seems out of nowhere when I’m just crying. Everything adds up when you don’t acknowledge it. OCD yada, yada. Mostly just frustration with my own faults and not wanting to hear about the families bickering and financial troubles.
Late 2020. I hated where I lived, my job, covid and the bullshit around it was in high gear, and besides being a functioning alcoholic.. I went full throttle. I gave my home up and moved into a series of hotels with most of my possessions chillin in a storage unit. I hit the liquor hard. I shut the world off. Couldn't even attend Thanksgiving dinner with my family because I was too fucked up. I got fired a week later and only regretted not saying I quit and the chances before had I not been on a daily hangover.
I could write a long story about this. I will keep this short. The year was 2001, I suffered a nervous break down. I had been suffering from anxiety for a long long long time. Probably because I got bullied so bad. Also I was stressed out about finding my first job etc.
Sounds like a long long long time ago 😄
@Live_Your_dream It was a really long time ago, and my anxiety isn't as bad as it was back then. I still suffer from some other mental issues, that I don't know if I'll ever get over or not.

It was actually in a dream I had earlier. It was another sleep paralysis dream. I remember just screaming at the top of my lungs & making scary faces in the dream to hopefully scare off the presence that was taunting me. It didn't have a form form this time so I only felt it through it's vibrations. But I don't think the screams did anything. I'm gonna try another approach next time.
I've never ever had one , and on reading though briefly I'm very thankful for that , didn't realise it was such a common occurrence.
hours ago and that's all you're getting bc not trying to relive it again
2021. I literally lost my mind that year and had to check into a mental hospital. Found out I have schizophrenia.
Not one up to this moment.
I never had a mental breakdown.
