Did anyones tastebuds ever get affected by Covid-19?

2 months before Covid became a thing me and my family got sick but it went away after they took medicine (not me). Then when it (COVID 19) became well known and rampant my tastebuds were ruined. For 2-3 weeks everything tasted like poison. Like bugs spray and germ-x. I couldn’t even drink water.

I’m fine now but I get anxious about it returning. I was severely dehydrated and whined a lot that my family would gripe at me to just drink, they didn’t get their tastebuds effected.

4 months after my family got covid, our smell and taste all altered. That's me, my husband, and his dad. Certain smells and tastes became repulsive, and certain smells were entirely gone. I didn't get back to completely normal until almost 2 years later. The first month was the worst though, I could hardly eat anything.

Yeah I didn't realize I had covid but I guess I must've because I lost my tastebuds and everything tasted rancid.

My cousin lost his sense of smell and taste. Then he got into a bad car accident and lost his sense of heat in his mouth. He could actually start to drink boiling water and wouldn’t know how hot it is until it hit his esophagus.

Not in any way that other flu's don't do. Ill always have altered taste during the illness and usually loose my appetite. But that goes back to normal in a week or two.

My nephew had COVID twice. The first time he lost his sense of taste and his sense of smell.

It's been years and those sense's never returned.

No worries here I never had covid. I only know about 15-20 people that have had covid & no one has said anything about side effects.

Yea, both times I had covid! However I am very lucky to have my taste back!
