What are some reasons for bleeding if I'm not on my period?

I woke up this morning and there was blood, so I put in a tampon, thinking I was in my period. When I took it out later, there was a decent amount of blood. Later, when I changed it again, there was only a speck of blood. I waited all day, but there was nothing.
Side notes: I am a virgin, and not sexually active. I live a home with my little sister, mom, and dad. It's been about three months since my last cycle. Is something wrong, should I be concerned? Is it normal for blood to stop flowing for a while on a period? Or am I just stressing over nothing? Please help, I am very worried...

Yes! It happens sometimes due to hormonal imbalances due to any kind of stress if you r having or if u have made any sudden changes in your lifestyle. PpNo need to freak out ! I have also experienced it once, when i just noticed a spotting and then periods stopped on the very first day only. Then for next 2 months, i wasn't having my periods. That's when i freaked out and went to gynaec. She told. she gave me a medicine, after having that medicine, i got my periods back within 10 days.
After that, i'm having my regular periods.

If your 'last circle' was three month ago it seems you just have a very very mild period with minimal bleeding. Because it seems you missed two. Other than that go to the doctor. They should know better. But without pain this just seems to be your period.
Better even ask your mother. She is kinda supposed to teach you, if not that than schools. Your mother would give you the option to ask in private and more personal.

Sounds like you might have an irregular cycle and you’re experiencing some spotting (can be caused by hormonal imbalance, high stress, birth control, etc). I’d probably get it checked out tbh, could be pcos or hormonal imbalance or something else esp since your last cycle was 3 months ago.
