Currently 33lbs down in almost 2 months but I was hoping to be down 50lbs-60lbs in 2 months.
I know with weight loss surgery, I would have lost way more in these past 8 weeks.

Trending & News it's a good tool to aid in weight loss (AID being the keyword), but along side of diet and exercise too.
what i don't agree with is the ones who get the surgery and think that's it, they will now become skinny no matter what. then they gain all the weight back because they have a poor relationship with food and exercise. they stretch their stomach back out and it was just pointless. and they're also ruined at that point because you cannot redo that surgery after you stretched your stomach out. and if you can, you'll have a hard time finding a doctor to do so since you failed the first time to follow the lifelong change of wls.
I totally agree. It is a tool but you still must do the work and diet and exercise. Even when you reach goal, you still have to diet and exercise which is what some of them don't get.
my mom had this surgery and she kept it off for good. i really wish you good success in this as well
Thank you!
33 lbs down in 2 months is absolutely fucking amazing!!
Congratulations!! 🤗❤️❤️
I don’t think anything about people who get the surgery, but I think you should definitely be proud of your accomplishment. Not everyone can do that.
Thank you! It certainly wasn't easy but I'm trying my hardest to get this weight off!
I suspect the surgery is a quick way to get the weight off, but then you'll have restrictions the rest of your life on the types of food you can eat, as well as how much you can eat in one sitting. Going the exercise and diet route will help establish good habits as you age.
That's true. I feel like I will be able to sustain my weight loss with what I am doing now but I just want it to go by faster. I guess I will just have to be patient since I can't afford the surgery anyway. But you're absolutely right. I wouldn't be able to eat the same again if I got the surgery. That's the only thing I would have been wary of if I was able to afford it and get the surgery.
As long as they maintain it afterwords, I don't have any negative feelings towards it.
Losing weight is easier for me than a lot of other people and it's still hard for me so even though it's not the route I want to go down, I don't blame people for taking that option.
Yep same here. Losing weight is easier for me than some people but it's still hard as hell lol it's hard work doing it on your own which is why I don't blame people who go that route and like you said as long as they maintain it, there's no negative feelings towards it. It's the ones that don't maintain it that gives it a bad rap.
Ayeeee!!

My neighbor and her husband both had the surgery. He recommended very well. She was not so lucky and
because very sick and was in bed all the time.
Everyone's body is different. I wouldn't do the surgery. Risk of infection could be a problem as well.
I think you are losing weight at a good pace. Keep up the good work and please reconsider being under the knife.
Good luck 🍀🤞☮️
Well I can't afford it so I can't get it done but that definitely gives me a lot to think about if I ever were able to afford it. But thank you. I feel like I'm not but I guess I'm just wanting it to go by faster because I don't want to be obese anymore. But I will keep it up! Thanks again.
Maybe so. And thank you! 😊
I have no judgement about them at all, but people need to realize that it's not an easy fix and has lots of chances for complications. The hardest parts, like changing your lifestyle, diet and limiting eating, and exercise still have to happen either way. If people can't do the hardest parts without surgery, then there's a very good chance they will end up right back where they started with no chance of another surgery to fix it. The surgeries are just to aid in feeling full.
Yes I agree. It's definitely not an easy fix but for me I know it will help me get to my goal weight faster. I have hypertension and am obese and need to get the weight off like yesterday. I've successfully lost 33lbs with diet and exercise in less than 2 months but I know I could have lost more with weight loss surgery.
Okay- 33 [pounds is nothing to sneeze at. Just keep going the way you are going. Keep working out, stay healthy. Be positive. It is not hard to lose weight fast. The [problem is that you put it back on fast. You need to create a new lifestyle.
I have certainly created a lifestyle change. What I am doing now is sustainable and something I can do for a lifetime. But I will keep it up! Thanks!
Yes it’s cheating but gets the job done. If you can afford it then what’s the harm? Diets and exercise don’t always work as well as you want. Sometimes the procedure is more beneficial to your health. You should make sure you exercise afterwards or you will gain it back, but I definitely support the idea of it
Yes that's true. If I could afford it, I would definitely make sure to exercise and continue to diet after I got the surgery. But unfortunately that's not possible for me.
Nothing wrong with using tools available. But if you can’t afford it it’s just not the tool for you
Right. I just have to continue to just do it the old fashion way which is just diet and exercise.
I think that’s okay. But I prefer working hard for what I want. I used to be bigger than I am rn but I started working out during pandemic and I can say that I’m very proud of myself. I used to weigh 75kls now I’m at 56kls. :)
Wow congrats on the weight loss!
Sometimes people need an extra help to lose the excess weight. Anyone who has the assets should do it not only for aesthetic reasons but mostly for health reasons.
I agree.
It is a drastic move to make but whatever works. I lost 100 pounds by eating healthy, walking and swimming, but that wouldn't work for everyone.
Yes it is indeed drastic but necessary for some. Also congrats on losing 100 pounds. That's a big feat and not easy to do!
Any progress is better than none. Good on you for being able to drop some. It may not be the number you were looking for or as fast, but it’s still something.
Thank you! You're right. It's better than nothing.
Rich but lazy. They should put in work like crazy and then if they need to adjust whats not getting fixed (for example lost weight but have sagging skin) then get surgery
Well I've been putting in the work but seeing slow results. I just want an extra tool to help me move along. I think some are rich and lazy but not all are. Some actually are putting in the work but not losing at all or as fast as they could be if they got the surgery. I think for people who really need it with preexisting conditions it's a must which is why I want to get it because I have preexisting condition and I know the more weight I lose the faster I can stop taking meds for it.
Yea im referring to the ones who dont try. As for you, jusr be careful. People die from changing what God gave them
Ok I definitely will!
I know several people who have all had it done successfully and are happy feeling like completely different people now they say. Most recent was hard to watch. The loose skin removal surgeries are brutal, not that she complained. Too happy.
Yep that's what I see a lot of on YouTube vids and IG stories of people who got vsg. They are really happy and maintaining.
It is certainly an easy way out that leads to them learning absolutely nothing about caring for themselves so they typically end up getting whale sized again only to repeat the process again
I don't think that's everyone though. I for example have been learning how to eat healthier and moving more and still want the surgery because it will make it go by so much faster. I just can't afford it. I've also seen quite a few influencers on YT keep the weight off for years. So it's definitely not everyone who puts the weight right back on.
Sure most of those people also likely pay someone to prepare their food, watch their diet etc. Your sign that anything you want/plan to do is a bad idea is if influencers encourage you to do it.
The ones I watch don't have people preparing their food for them. They show what they eat in a day and prepare it themselves.
Well that is good to hear. Ultimately if you can lose the weight on your own you should. Most medical procedures as I am sure you are aware carry varying levels of risk
Yeah I am aware and I'm trying to lose it on my own but I just find it frustrating that I'm not losing fast enough. I know with surgery I would lose it faster.
Sure but would you feel good? You put in a lot of work already and then you jump to the finish line.
Yes I would feel great. To be free of all this weight would be great. I have so far to go.
But you have gone down 33 lbs that is a really good amount given your time frame. You should be proud of how far you have gone. Yeah you had a goal that was higher but you have gone down more than half your goal. Not many even make it that far.
That's true. Thanks!
Rather than focusing on how you didn't meet your goal focus on how close to it you got. Set a new goal for yourself and push for that goal. Progress not perfection. You got this!
Thanks I will!
sure hope they also have a very good follow up plan. cause chances are that the fat will be back quite fast after surgery. cause they got fat in the first place for a reason.
True. Very true. That's why its best to start out dieting and exercising first and then try to opt in for wls.
in my opinion: surgery should exclusively done by people who are currently at risk of dying if they don't lose the fat fast.
Prevention is better than treatment.
If they wouldn't put so much junk filled to the brim with sugar, fat and salt into their orifices, they wouldn't need to get it.
I don't really like surgeries nor support them. Only if it is life threatening should a person be opted for weight loss surgery
I think a person who is obese and has preexisting conditions should definitely get the surgery. Like I have hypertension and am obese right now so I definitely think I should get it if I could afford it.
Hey how obese are we talking about.
You are young girl. Don't worry you can get in shape with some exercise. I don't think people should rely too much on surgeries but yes for medical conditions it is alright.
For hypertension one should exercise more and use the medication. It's important. Don't worry I can understand
Like more than 250lbs. I'm at a high bmi of 44 so I would definitely qualify for surgery. I am dieting and exercising but it's not coming off quick enough.
Ok thanks!
Thanks!

Yes I've been stressed out about my finances and working very hard as a result of that which has put a lot of stress on my body and before I started dieting and exercising, I was using food to cope. Now I'm using food as medicine and fuel. I go to the doctor tomorrow to see if my BP is down some. I'm hoping it is and I can either stop taking it or be put on a lower dose.
Yes I'm in a lot of debt.
It's over $22k in credit card debt. I'm not a shopaholic. It was through almost being homeless and having to spend money on rent and deposit as well as taking a trip a while ago that cost over $4k. And then other things that me and family needed that racked up the credit card debt over time.
So getting surgery is out of the question unless someone can pay it for me.
Yes. I plan on putting 150-200 to the side each month to pay the cards down. I don't make a lot of money so that's all I can do for now.
🙂 hey you don't need surgery. Want to talk to me?
By the way, what does your friends and family say about surgery? I am totally not in favor. I would be more interested in helping you go debt free. I think your debt is deep down making you stressed. Do you have siblings available to lend you a hand?
I'm a data prep technician. My boyfriend is in debt too so he can't help me there and neither can my family. I know its not enough money to put to the side but at this point I have no choice with what I make per year. My family is not really for it by the way. They believe I can lose it naturally.
No they just don't have the money to help me.
They are broke right now and not working but they will be working soon.
Yes it is
Thank you and yes it has. I currently live with a roommate to help pay for rent.
I don't mind it but there is a big chance they're not going to learn and gain weight again.
That's true. Many fail to keep off the weight because they fail to realize that it's all about dieting and exercising along with the surgery.
Its good IF people don't put the weight back on, which seems to happen a lot.
Yeah it's hard to maintain if you don't go in with the mindset that you still have to diet and exercise even when you reach your goal weight.
Exactly.
I think it’s cool they’re willing to spend money to make themselves better.
in some severe cases
the docs recommend it
Yeah but that's probably for people who are usually 300+ and have conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. I'm much less than that but I do have hypertension so I wonder if they would recommend it to me. But even so I still couldn't afford it.
That surgery is dangerous
I've heard it can be very dangerous but I've seen a lot of people on IG and YT talk about how beneficial it was for them and how fast they dropped the weight and have been maintaining it.
Their body, their choice.
@handsomelad70
I think they say that saying when it comes to abortion, not surgery.
For lazy people
How is it for lazy people when you still have to work out and eat right?
Losers
