It’s sad , especially in the world we live in today with so many judgmental people that act like their own shit doesn’t stink , The thing is every one of us comes from different genetics , and we all have different body types and bone structures and metabolisms etc.. This society sadly has labeled overweight people as a bad thing for many of years by saying it’s bad for your health you need to lose weight , blah blah blah , the truth is , it’s all a money making scam a gimmick to take your money , Exercising and cutting calories drinking protein shakes etc. has nothing to do with your health period , Society wants you to think it’s for your health , but it has nothing to do with your health , All exercising does is help you burn some pounds , build muscle , to build up your stamina and increase your energy , it has nothing to do with Health. And sadly that’s where most people are wrong when they say they exercise for their health , Just because someone eats salad and lifts weights. And someone else eats chocolate and doesn’t lift weights , it doesn’t mean the salad person is healthier than the chocolate person , society wants people to think this way , because it’s a money making gimmick. So to make a long story short , Too much of anything is not good for any of us period , I know people that exercised daily , and dropped dead at a young age because their heart stopped from too much strain , is that healthy? I know overweight people that chose to eat junk food all day and sit in front of a tv , and dropped dead of a heart attack so again exercising has nothing to do with your health , it’s only good for your own energy and stamina. , it has nothing to do with health , Wake up people , get your heads out of your asses !! Steroids is not healthier then candy. Too much of anything is not good for you period , stop judging others. Because you live at the gym, you live at the gym because you have low self esteem about yourself , you want to be noticed and accepted , you are
Not working out for your health. I’m not saying exercise is bad for you , but it doesn’t make you healthier period00 Reply

+1 yLosing weight isn’t all about exercising but also what you eat, rest etc. If you have health conditions, as some you mentioned, there are other ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and hopefully loose weight. If they can’t exercise, seek out to a dietician or physiotherapist to find out your possibilities. There is so much health-related professionals out there so if there is a want, one can find alternatives.
As for what I think, well, obviously feel sorry for anyone with any health-related condition.00 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yi think it must suck, more so for the conditions, not the fact that they are overweight and can't lose weight. fibromyalgia is just constant pain! you can't even help autoimmune disorders, you just have to deal with them and hope you don't have a flare up. depression is a whole other topic for overweight/weight loss tho...

+1 yBeing fat is preventable. If they didn't prevent it, then I already know they have a problem.

Look at me for a few seconds... I was once almost 300lbs. and super fat. I had a problem. I still have drinking/drug abuse and sleeping problems, but I solved the issue of not moving and eating too damn much problem.
The point is... solve your fat problems and at least people will want to suck your cock
... or your pussy if you're a woman. Nobody wants to suck on a fat woman's pussy... at least nobody really wants to have sex with the guy that is willing to suck a fat woman's pussy.
I mean...
That's just nasty.

+1 yI don't think any of those health conditions make it impossible to lose weight. In fact, depression can often be caused by weight gain and be cured by weight loss and a more active lifestyle.
Same thing with asthma or liver disease. Asthma symptoms may sometimes be alleviated by weight loss and liver disease can also be caused by obesity.
No matter which way you cut it, there really isn't any good excuse to not be a healthy weight. Being underweight or overweight are both unhealthy and can either cause or worsen existing medical conditions.

+1 yIt's a tough one since I want someone I love to live a long and healthy life. So it sounds callous but it doesn't matter to me so much whether they can help it or not. What I hope they do though is try to help it as much as they can. I especially wouldn't want to see someone like that eating junk food all the time and barely getting any exercise.

My natural tendency is generally to sympathize deeply with people to the point of giving them endless additional chances. When I got promoted to lead engineer in the past, I really struggled with disciplining the engineers below me.
For example, we had a guy in QA who had type-2 diabetes and even lost his foot from it (later eyes), and he constantly showed up late to work and even completely missed work all the time. Yet I couldn't find it in me to let him go because I sympathized so deeply with his condition and he was loyal to the company for years before he started developing all these health problems.
Still, my higher-ups pushed me until I was forced to fire him and it saddened me so much that I argued with them about how loyal he was to the company before. Even then, I've come to realize that we're running a business, not a charity. It still tends to make me upset but at the end of the day, no matter whether or not someone can help their condition, being unreliable ends up letting the entire team down.
So I've had to learn to be a bit more ruthless with my thinking.
+1 yI think they are few and far between. I think most overweight people could lose weight with a healthy diet and exercise regime.
I lost 20lbs by quitting sugar, cutting way back on carbs (modified KETO), and jogging every other day for 3-4 miles, and I'm 55.10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. tbh, some of those conditions may be from being overweight in the first place.
If you're in a bad shape and overweight, the first port of call has to be healthy fasting and walking, lots of walking. Hopefully the 'diseases' will ease as the weight comes off and health improves.

Asker+1 yI've been ill since I was a teenager. I don't eat much and I already walk a lot. Has nothing to do with that
Asker+1 yI take 15 different medications to be able to even function. Those also make me unable to lose weight. You're not a doctor. I have lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasiatic arthritis. What people in Gaza get is different than an autoimmune disease
Asker+1 yIt could be genetics, it could also be environment, or other illnesses. As a teen I had Mono from sharing a drink with someone who had Mono though I didn't know that, and after that I got an autoimmune disease. I also live in a poor area in the U. S where there's lead paint and an old apartment building, I've lived here since I was 10. Drinking water has forever chemicals in it. There could be many reasons for this
+1 yLook all I have to say is... you don't see any fat people in starving countries. They're all skin an bone. In my opinion, there's no excuse for being fat or obese. It simply means your diet isn't ideal and you don't make any effort to workout or push your body physically. The people that are overweight are generally just lazy and have no discipline with their diet. They also usually have too much sugar in their diet.

I answered your main question of "What do you think of people who are overweight and can't lose weight because of health conditions?" I think they're lazy and there's no excuse to be fat or obese.
But to address your tangent with autoimmune disease, people with autoimmune conditions tend to gain weight because of the medicines and reduced physical activity caused due to inflammation. But at this point it's just mind over matter. I guarantee there are people with autoimmune disease that fight against their condition and are able to lose weight just fine. Overweight people are simply lazy and self pitying.
