Do you feel sorry for overweight people?

I only feel sorry for overweight people who are overweight because of health issues

I don’t feel sorry for people who are overweight because they were lazy during there life or ate too much junk food.

I work in the medical field and see a lot of things. Some people are overweight due to medical reasons, some have an eating disorder, others instead of drinking use food as their coping choice, much like an alcoholic or drug addict do. I don't feel sorry for anyone in life but I do have empathy and understanding for those struggling

I feel sorry for them because majority of obese people are victims of food industry. Statistics show that people with low income are more prone to be overweight than people with money who can afford more natural foods.

I would say if you feel bad for drug addicts and alcoholics and not fat people you're a hypocrite
However if you don't feel bad for these other groups you aren't a hypocrite
I do sympathize with SOME of them but not the loud and obnoxious "look at me I'm a victim" ones

Socially shun and mock them = MAYBE encourage them to step up and do something about it.

Can't help everyone, and you can't fix everything. Some problems have no good solutions.

Nobody is overweight because of health issues.
Fat metabolism is strict physics, someone gaining fat without consuming equivalent amount of excess energy would be a gross violation of fundamental principles of physics.
That's basically hocus bocus, in scientific terms.

People are fat because they eat too much, that's the only reason, ever.

Yeah, some I feel bad for but overall I dont as they chose to be that way and I dont think their are much excuses to be at the weight some of them are, especially when it gets up past 300 lbs or more.

Considering I used to be overweight? Only if they have a medical condition where they cannot lose excess body fat.


Other than that, no. They make their own bed. So they should lay in it without expecting pity from others

I feel sorry for them as it’s a bit of a catch 22 sometimes and it’s much harder to loose weight then to put it on
