Are we suppose to floss before or after brushing our teeth? What do you do?

Ok I tried flossing before brushing and after indulging in a nice big green leafy salad, I decided to stick to my old routine.. swish with mouth wash, spit. Then brush, lastly I floss. I find brushing before flossing helped swish away most of the food particles so it makes flossing easier…. Change my mind

Just brushing without water works. I went half my life thinking it's normal to put toothpaste on the brush then wet it and brush, spit.
But that's doing nothing, the whole point is to let the toothpaste stay on and do it's job and welp since I've been doing that the dentists haven't brought up any recommendations of needing to do anything else.

Oh yeah this also means no eating or drinking for at least a hour really.

Ok I need to start doing that. Water dunking after toothpaste on a mechanical toothbrush is so messy

It's one of those things that's really obvious to why it's not the right way to do it but because one was brought up doing it I didn't question it.
The water just get's in the way of the toothpaste and my teeth thank me now for knowing that lol.
