Does this sound more like a bug/virus or food poisoning?

The other night i got very, very sick for a few hours. I spewed up about 6 or 7 times over three hours, also had diarrhea about 5 times in the same time period. Also had pins and needles in my hands, and had a horrible headache, i couldn't even check my phone, and i was tossing and turning non stop for about 5 hours until i eventually fell asleep.

The next day i woke up and i wasn't spewing up or anything, i just had a bit of a headache and was very tired, which lasted for 2 more days.

What do you think it sounds like?

Dang man, that sounds brutal! Based on the symptoms and timeline, my guess is it was probably a stomach bug rather than food poisoning.

Food poisoning usually only lasts 1-2 days max. But having the puking and diarrhea continue for hours, plus the headache, pins and needles and restlessness you described - that lines up more with a virus like norovirus or something.

Food poisoning is also usually from something specific you ate, but if you didn't think of any suspect meals it's less likely to be that.

Viruses tend to run their whole nasty course through your system over a few hours, then you're left drained for a couple days as your body fights it off.

The lingering tiredness after is totally normal with stomach bugs in my experience. Glad it seems to have run its course for you now!

If it happens again or you start feeling worse, wouldn't hurt to check with the doc. But sounds textbook stomach virus symptoms to me bro. Just rest up and feel better!

No worries man, glad I could help give my opinion on what it sounded like! Viruses are the worst when they lay you out like that. I'm definitely familiar with those intense spewing/shitting sessions haha. But yeah it does seem more likely to have been a virus attacking your guts rather than just regular food poisoning.

Make sure you take it easy the next few days and don't try pushing yourself too hard before you're fully recovered. Staying hydrated is key. And watch out - sometimes with viruses you can feel better and then feel like crap again a few days later when another wave hits you. Hopefully that's not the case this time and you're on the mend! neither, but not like when food was bad, wouldn't vomit repeatedly so some intense virus. i guess covid omicron, unless you got the omicron vax.

It might be one of the viruses going around. I would clean up your vomit before you get your sense of smell back. I had intense discomfort October of last year but it went away within 48 hours. I was baffled because the only contact I had with the outside world was a food order over 6 days before. The tv said you can’t get Covid by eating contaminated food, you can only get it by touching someone who has it.
