Unless you are a baby and are in diapers, doctors would never expose the entire bum to give an injection where only a small patch of skin is necessary to perform the procedure.
In adults, very few butt injections are performed and none are for medical reasons. Those injections would include
- Poly-L-lactic acid injections
- Calcium Hydroxylapatite injections
- Hyaluronic acid injections
- Fat grafting
- Hydrogel and silicone butt injections
None of those are medically necessary.
However, some injections can be given in the butt as intramuscular medications. Certain medications, such as some antibiotics or antipsychotic medications, are administered via intramuscular injections. The buttocks can be a suitable site for these injections due to the large muscle mass present.
Never had an injection in my butt. Maybe as a baby.
