Do you WASH your EYELIDS?

Question

In the shower this morning, I realized that I never wash my eyelids, I don't want to get soap in my eyes... that stings.

So, I'm wondering if anyone washes their eyelids.

I suspect the answer may be different for men and women, since women use mascara and eyeliner.

Yes I wash them when I wash my face. My eyes are closed and I use my hands to put the soap all over my face including my eyelids and then rinse it off before I open my eyes.

But speaking of eyelids, just coincidentally I'm experiencing something I've never experienced before at least to this extent. Past few days one of my eyelids is twitching. It's really annoying. But from everything I've read it's harmless and should go away at some point. I think I've had it before, but never this bad. Some articles I read said it should go in way in a few days and others a few weeks so I'm not sure which is correct. But it's a weird feeling and kind of annoying.

Of course, I have never seen my own eyelids, but. . . I have seen them in a mirror. I can't recall having seen dirt on my eyelids. I assume that eyelids exude sweat and have cells that have died but are holding on via some mechanical attachment. So, every morning, while in the shower, I wash my hair and allow some of the shampoo lather to run down onto my forehead and it at always gets on my eyebrows. SO then I wipe my eyelids with a towel to clear away the shampoo lather and, voilà, I have washed my eyelids!

Yes. I recommend baby shampoo for this. No tears!

Actually yes I do. I wash my face with a liquid soap that is mild, and I gently scrub the eyelids. I developed a mild infection in one of the eyelids that is barely noticeable and the ophthalmologist recommended that I do that. He recommended that I use baby shampoo but I already had a mild facial soap.

It may occur strange to some people, but... it is indeed possible to close one's eyes when one washes one's head (which -in some way- includes one's face).

...

On a side line - the 21st century is some strange time to live in. Even simple washing becomes an... ''issue'' :D

I don't wash my eyelids, but I thought I had something in my eye and my right eye kept watering, so I went to this eye surgeon and here one part of my eyelid came down so he numbed with a local and corrected it for me, it took sometime for it to heal, but it was corrected.

I close my eyes and wash them with facial cleaner, then rinse immediately so you don't get that stinging feeling.

Not really truthfully. I think I wash everywhere else other than the eyelids. My eyes are pretty sensitive too. I can't even do eye drops.
