And most people are just thin. It wouldn’t cut it today. If you’re thin, today, nobody wants you. Nobody wants a skinny person.

We certainly ATE , and we ate a lot , the problem that happened post 70s was processed wheat , hormones used in meat production , and of course fast food , I'm still the correct weight now , correct weight has not changed.
What has happened now is people overeat , thinking fast food in okey ) it never is ) , its never , ever , ever , and do fck all exercise , ( speaking generally ) this is of course a recipe for utter disaster , inflammation is a giant killer , 1/3 of the USA is obese , these people need regulation as they are completely uncapable of decent decision making.
Over weight and Obese , will not only kill you a lot , lot sooner , it will make your time above ground far more unpleasant , the other issue is antibiotics , the key to life is to NOT BE ON ANY , its not a cure , its a temporary fix , and again these will eventually kill you , the goal must be to get off them.
This includes any form of script , including happy pills..
But , the biggest killer now and into the future will be weight , great docco on USA obesity on YouTube that I watched the other day. The key to a long healthy life is obvious , Limit processed carbohydrates ( note processed ) , Fast food = Never ever ever , exercise is vital the body is made to move , snacking is not a NORM , its a never , ever , try to get as close as you can to 8 hours sleep , everynight.
Monitor your results daily , and never just accept being overweight , always be prepared , its not a diet , its called lifestyle.
I still suspect its high fructose corn syrup so I did an online search. Guess what. It was introduced in the 1970s. Why that one specifically? Because it's super common in the US and banned in the EU. We all know that despite similar eating patterns, Europeans tend to be more fit so I still suspect It's something in the food over there. And when you then compare everything it makes sense to look at the things that we do not allow yet are common in the US.
So I suspect that pictures from around or before the fructose corn syrup transition are similar to the european body type.
I heard in Asian countries if you are above the weight of 110 lbs, you are considered plus size. I am like 5 pounds overweight there. I think American food has been designed to fatten the country.
Less junk food, sweets, and more healthy home cooked meals by a mother who knew how to cook. Today it is all about fast food and fattening foods.

I'm '70s thin'.
You have to remember, that 40% of Americans are obese. We don't know what normal is anymore.
Plus, we can suggest that people simply moved around a lot more back then. They may have had cars, but there was a lot less convenience in general. And people probably walked a lot more. We are almost entirely sedentary these days. Honestly, the looks that I get when I gently suggest people need to exercise. As if I've just suggested they need to sacrifice their first born to the gods or something.
I work out and move for hours each day. Plus I eat lowish fat.
It's really not difficult at all.
People were hungry in the 1970s... 1972 marks the beginning of a 3-year widespread famine, also known as the world or global food crisis of 1972-1975, that had a death toll of about 2 million people. A combination of regional weather events, the failure of communism to produce, and the western agricultural policies that paid farmers not to produce in order to drive global prices higher made food very expensive. Additionally the oil embargo of 1973–1974 drove energy prices higher putting a crunch on the economy. The Fed fund rate also rose during that time as inflation rand rampant. When there isn't a lot of money to go around, and food and energy cost more, then people eat less. It's pretty basic really.
Back then, less food was processed. more food was natural, there was little genetically modified food. People were also more active. Video games, personal computers and cell phones didn't exist, meaning people got up and walked around, rather than sitting for hours at a time.
And this comment may be controversial... More women stayed at home, preparing meals for their family. This meant more wholesome meals and much less fast food consumed. Fewer and better calories that way.
Back then ''we'' still were allowed to fat-shame others.
This kept ''discipline'' up :)
Slim ladies are STILL the ideal to most sane people; we only don't voice it out openly, in fear to not be conform with 'the System'.
Or do we...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/M8FtUjtevNgThere was less junk food back then. And what junk food there was, was probably way more healthy!

I guess that makes sense. Most people are fat asses now. Men want thick woman now
They ate healtheir and stayed active. Now people eat junk, sit on their ass and stare at phones all day long.
Yeah that is true. And people say obesity or fat acceptance is good? Yeah no.
I didn’t mean any offense but most people in the 70s looked like they haven’t ate in weeks. My brother said he wouldn’t want to live at that time because most women were thin and he prefers thick, chubby woman.
There wasn't as much to do inside back then, there was no internet and no cable. There were only a few broadcast tv channels and in some communities all they showed was boring local programming like farmers tending crops. People spent more time having fun outdoors.
I'd club that broad in the second picture.
Partly because the Fast Food Revolution had not begun, as people still could eat healthy without killing their food budget., and the remnants of the Twiggy/Jean Shrimpton/etc. era in fashion meant that women, at least, felt pressure to be thin, unlike today's "Body Positivity" era in which fat broads are regarded queens of the culture.
The food was different. People did not have so much junk food. People ate their meals at home and ate meals prepared from natural foods.
People got more exercise. Kids played outside and there were no video games or social media.
There was no internet and no social media. People were generally more active because they weren't sitting at computer screens. Also, fewer fast food places and they ate more home-cooked meals.
The sugar/car/fast food lobby wasn't so strong back in the days. So people weren't eating stuff, that contained more sugar than candy and drove everywhere.
They were too busy doing drugs to care about eating
Well no wonder they’re so boney! They look hungry. It wouldn’t be acceptable in todays world.
They weren't, this is just some pics, I saw many video of this era and people were totally normal not obese and not overly skinny either.
They ate healthy and physically moved around a lot
Didn't have all these junk foods and drinks back then and people didn't stay on a couch all day
Cocane and Nicotine were key components of their diet.
The American diet is much worse now. Families then ate less fats food and sugar
They weren't eating all this processed food. That's the big difference.
more outside activities
less sugar and processed foods
There were no smartphones for people to stare at hours on end, so they had time to go outside and play!
That time no junk food and they worked physically
less junk food more active than people nowadays
Less processed foods than today
No processed junk food and more manual labour
this is a weird post
Ignorance is bliss.
Food wasn't poison
