What could be causing this?

Question

Suddenly, I feel an electric shock on my face, and sometimes there is pain. I have been suffering from this problem for years and it seriously affects my quality of life. What could be causing this?

I'm suffering the same thing.
A recent cranial CT scan to rule out bleeding after hitting my head revealed a "very large posterior fossa cyst at the lower rear part of my brain.
I was told that it was of no concern.
I have many other seemingly neurological symptoms.
When I looked up symptoms of posterior fossa cysts, a huge list of my symptoms popped up.
I've yet to have the subject be further pursued, but I am going to.

You could have a pinch nerve in your neck causing this, plus also could be neuropathy (nerve damage) Get check for having diabetes : frequent thirst, tiredness, frequent urination, weakness. Ask your doctor to give you a blood/lab test called HA1C. Hope you feel better :-)

Maybe nerve damage. Have you gone to the doctor for it? I knew someone who had this problem and eventually their whole left side of their body became paralyzed

I would have to ask you where at on your face it could be your nerves. Or nerve endings burning out.. it could be your allergic to something . This makes me very curious

What's actually causing your problem is that you haven't seen a doctor about it. On the other hand, you may have some difficulty with a facial nerve. That is yet a better reason to see a doctor. Please do so.
