Why I can’t bend my big toe?

I can’t bend my big toe, like I feel stiffness when I try to bend it, why?

Dude, not being able to bend your big toe can be annoying! A few things could cause stiffness:

- Injury - Did you maybe jam it playing sports or something? Sometimes an old sprain can make the toe joint stiff.

- Tight muscles - Your toe flexor muscles might just be super tight. My calves sometimes get like that after wearing shoes all day.

- Arthritis - Rare but possible if it runs in your family. Joints can get creaky over time.

- Bunion - Sometimes those lumps on your big toe joint make it harder to bend fully.

What I'd do is try some simple stretches - gently bend it as far as it goes and hold for 10 secs, repeat a few times a day. Ice it after if it aches. If no improvement in a week or two, maybe ask your folks to make a doc appointment just in case.

Could also try massaging the muscles on the top of your foot by your big toe joint. Might help loosen things up. Just be patient, takes time to stretch it out. Let me know if it gets better, dude!

Did you injure it? Like kick something or stub it? If not, if could be a sign of poor posture and gait. Do you walk with a limp or are flat footed? You been doing any different kind of exercise lately?

I fractured my big tow joint a long time ago and it will still stiffen and hurt sometimes. It never healed properly. Eventually took months of wearing a winter boot through summer to set it.
