I do most of those. I have sumatriptan on hand in case I need to work through it. I do use Tylenol because it works better than Ibuprofen for me, and I can't take Ibuprofen anyway due to clotting issues. Both work, it's up to you what works better in your case. Mine are related to low blood pressure, abrupt changes in pressure, and hormone levels. Sumatriptan constricts my blood vessels enough to take off the pressure. Coffee does not help my headaches, even though it is also a vasoconstrictive.
I can prevent them by:
Getting enough quality sleep
Drinking fluids regularly (water, electrolytes, etc.)
Eating regularly (like, every 2 hours or so. Protein and a bit of fruit or cheese)
Staying active (like, long walks every day)
Maintaining balanced hormone levels (sometimes that means taking a compounded hormone). Especially important coming up on a period...
Getting enough good salt and electrolytes
When I have a bad one and feel nauseous, I make myself eat some protein or some toast, or even just a few grapes. It keeps me from throwing up (sorry, TMI I know). I'm sorry you are dealing with that and hope you feel better soon.
Aww! You have a bad headache huh?
Well let's see what we can do about it.
Yes, a cold wet folded washcloth over your eyes helps.
Tylenol is more for fever and not as much for headaches. My doctor said to take Ibuprofen for headaches. I hope you have some on hand or someone can go to the store and get you some.
The cold dark room does help as well.
Also if you are in a room that is too hot, that can give you a headache. So, he the room cool.
My nephew swears that drinking coffee helps with his migraines. I had a headache yesterday and drank a cup of coffee ☕ and it helps. I think coffee things your blood so it runs easier through the area in your head that hurts.
Try drinking some fluids in case you are dehydrated. When I have a headache and drink water it makes my head throb.
I'm sure that AI guy will come on here and put his two cents in. Oh well...
I hope you feel better real soon 🌺
Thank you!
@bannacookies
Hope something gives you relief real quick. Relax now 😴💤

Hot or cold compresses to your head or neck. Massage and small amounts of caffeine. Over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others), acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) and aspirin. Prescription medications including triptans, such as sumatriptan (Imitrex) and zolmitriptan (Zomig).
Hot or cold showers or baths may relieve a headache for some people. You may also want to rest in a quiet room with a cool cloth on your forehead. Gently massaging your head and neck muscles may provide relief. If your headaches are due to stress or anxiety, you may want to learn ways to relax.
What is the best thing to take for a bad headache?
Pain relievers...
Which drinks can help migraine?
Drinks for migraine.
Coffee.
Almond milk.
Turmeric and ginger drinks.
Feverfew tea.
Water.
Migraine treatment.

Cause none of the above work. Pain meds have no effect on me. I had 8 surgeries and didn't take pain meds for any. Same for menstrual, IBS, dysmenorrhea, vaginismus. I just suck it up for work and curl up in bed on my off days. Same for all other chronic symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fainting, lower back ache, sharp abdominal pain, fatigue, menstrual cramps, heartburn, sweats amd chills, vaginal stinging/burning/soreness.
Drink a huge glass of water to rehydrate, eat something, if you are addicted to caffeine maybe have a cup of tea or coffee, brush teeth (for possible dental problem and/or just to massage the mouth/gums which are obviously part of the head), take some acetaminophen, check blood pressure and chill out and listen to some classic music with the lights off to avoid bright light stimulation.
The only headaches I get nowadays are from sound. Not much I can do about that though. But in the past, my headaches were mainly due to my diet. Especially sodium or potassium intake relative to my water intake. I often try to shoot for at least a 2:1 ratio of water and salt (w:s), while making sure potassium & salt (p:s) have a 3:1 to 4:1 ratio so my body is able to regulate fluid balance better.
Alternate acetaminophen and ibuprofen, go to a dark/quiet place, avoid screen time (especially up close like a phone or computer monitor), and drink plenty of water, or better yet sports drinks with electrolytes.
I sometimes get a headache from being overtired. I take two ibuprofen, drink a glass of water (for hydration), close my eyes and take it easy for a few minutes. That almost always makes the headache go away.
I get migraines from bright artificial light so I changed my job to remote with blue light protection over screen so I can work in natural lighting or dark office.
Dark, cold room. Suffer it out. I can't take pain meds. I have seven types of migraine triggers and weed will only work well on five of them, if caught in time. High pain strains, low thc. Edibles.
Honestly just advil and water. But if possible sex really helps relieve headaches I'm not even joking
I usually ride it out. Luckily I rarely get headaches.
Cold compress, caffeine or cold drink and lay in a dark room. Eyes shut a combo
All the above. Plus billiard ball under my head where it meets my neck. there's a pressure point there that relieves my migraines.
Might not be “migraines” per se…light doesn’t make it much worse. I do like the dark during.
I go to the gym and do a good cardio workout. Headache gone.
cold shower, pill up... eat good, sleep lots...
My headaches are usually all sinus-related so I take ibuprofen usually.
I avoid using my phone, rest or sleep, drink lots of water.
For the last several months, I've had nearly no headaches. But back when I DID have them, if they were bad enough, I would take half a dose of Excedrin, which almost always worked really well
I shoot whatever caused it...
@bannacookies Resting eyes help
I try to relax and meditate a little bit.
Ibuprofen. Lots of ibuprofen.
The first five options
tylanol and black coffee
electrolyte drinks
Relax and fall asleep
Water and rest
Usually an Advil.
