Is it normal to not feel the burn in your lungs after smoking weed, but still get high?

People always say that when after they inhale weed they feel a burn in their lungs and they start to tighten up. I’ve been smoking pot for about a year now and never had that experience. When I smoke with new people and tell them that they say I must be doing it wrong, but then I’ll take a few hits off of a joint with them and they’ll see that my eyes are blood shot red and then they get confused and ask me if I’m sure I don’t feel it in my lungs. It’s weird because when I inhale I don’t feel the smoke go into my lungs at all and I don’t even feel the burn afterwards when I exhale, but I still cough and get high right away. I know that people who have smoked pot for a while will stop getting the burn feeling after being used to it, but I never had the burning or tight feeling before. I love getting high, but want to experience that feeling in my lungs after inhaling because everyone says it feels good. I don’t feel anything in my lungs after smoking pot but still get high and love it. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
