Do you remember what it was about? Any recurring nightmares? Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? Have you ever seen the sleep paralysis monster? Has it sat on you chest?
I don't tend to fear crazy shit I see in dreams. I've heard sleep paralysis described as sleep paralysis demons, as in they (legion) pick on and torture weak people that are far from God. So i can give you a dream I did have from a different perspective I guess you could say...
In this dream I start as kid in a mall department store. When I was a kid me and my brother use to go in the circle clothing racks and play hide in seek sort of. So in the dream I'm looking through the racks and I find a girl in the middle of one of the racks. She runs off. I follow. and she crosses the title walkway between corners of the store where you enter. She disappears behind another rack of clothing and when she reappears she is older and so am I. We are maybe teens to twenties... and she draws my attention disappearing and reappearing behind different racks and just as I get close again, she runs to the next corner or the Earth as I am starting to understand the symbolism. This time as I cross into the next corner all the clothes racks are gone and in their place are a bunch of people that go on as far as the eye can see. They are prostrated praying to their "god", as they rise and fall praying like Muslims the girl disappears and reappears. We are again older. She is going to her family who are praying among all the other people... I'm starting to understand she is drawing me toward them. Then I am drawn by her to the fourth corner of the Earth, where all the people that were praying like Muslims look like they are dead huddled on the floor (millions of them), but they are trapped in their bodies being tormented just like your sleep paralysis. They are shaking like they are having a seizure, but frozen in place. They are sealed and can't escape their agony. I look out over the sea of dead people at the end of the earth to see if the girl survived, but they are all in torment. I try to help the people randomly wake up, but they won't and then a figure of light places his hand on my shoulder and says I'm sorry, they can't be helped and I instantly wake up.

When I think back about it years later, it feels like Ezekiel 7 The End Has Come.
The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says to the land of Israel: “‘The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land! The end is now upon you, and I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. I will not look on you with pity; I will not spare you. I will surely repay you for your conduct and for the detestable practices among you. “‘Then you will know that I am the Lord.’
In Ezekiel 7:15 It is said outside is the sword; inside are plague and famine. In the dream the dead people that were sealed were tormented inside their bodies, yet I was outside with the sword.
Ephesians 6:17
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
While I was not in fear seeing so many dead and in torment and pain, it was sad… Yet, I knew it was not my path. I didn’t see him, but I heard his voice and felt his hand on my right shoulder from behind and then I woke up in peace to a fresh bright sunny morning. As is said in the Bible: - 1 y
Matthew 15:24
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
John 10:25-30
Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
So in the dream I suppose you could say a Muslim girl is trying to lured me away even though I am unshakable... In the dream I think she is a kind humble person and am curious about her, but she is tied to her family who have a different fate. Then God shows me their fate as I stand above them. It's horrible. I feel sorry for them, but that seems to be the outcome. Hopefully they have a change of heart before the end comes.

Well it's 100% so that tells you I have enough to piss me off. My nightmares usually involve the devil and I wake up swinging. I was so fortunate a few months ago as I woke up swinging a left and it just barley brushed Cece's nose. It could have been a horrible accident. I've never spanked her at all. She didn't respond. Perhaps she slept through it.

Sleep paralysis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lkkF4hJGUU - Hope you never had that.
So when you have these nightmares, are you aware that it's just a dream? - 1 y
Might be why you keep having them then. The way to break the cycle is acceptance / love, weird as that may sound. I've learned this from Charley Morley originally, from his presentation:

Interesting you say you know it's a dream while you're having it. Are you also aware that your real body is sleeping in bed? Have you ever tried to not fight it?
There is another good angle of "attack" I've found you might find useful:

I've had these most of my life. They stopped scaring me decades ago. I've laughed, but I generally like fighting. I don't ever invite evil into my area. When it comes, it's against my will. They're wrong. I know it's a dream, and I am trying to wake myself up. I have a hard time usual, but I have done it a few times. If I don't, I start swinging, and it happens that my arms are in sync. One night back in the early 90s I was in bed trying to fall asleep. I felt the presence and thought I'm gonna lean over and turn the lamp on. I heard try it. I did. The bulb flashed and burnt out. "TINA!!" Iyelmed and my pit bull came running and lept onto my bed. The evil left instantly. She was an angeldog.

Interesting. So you never get scared of them any more, just fight with them for the fun of it? If that's something you enjoy, why do you try to wake up? Have you ever tried to face them with the intention of just observing them closely, or to talk to them in a friendly way? Try to hug them, show them love? I understand that's how they never come back again. They're part of your self you are rejecting and they just want to be accepted. At least that seems to be the leading theory, but it does seems to be the case that when you integrate that part of you into your ego (self-image) then the nightmares stop.

To be honest, I feel fear and being held. I've always ended those dreams by waking up. It's just that sometimes it is very hard to break loose. It's as tho whatever it is, evil spirits or what, they are able to hold me in sleep. I struggle to wake. One time, not real long ago. A year or so, I couldn't break the grip, and I had to yell. I so I came awake with cussing and swinging. I probably have 2 or 3 a year.
1.1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I have not personally experienced sleep paralysis myself, however, I have known two men that have it.
It is very scary to have this happen to a person.
One guy explained that he believed he was being abducted by aliens and they would take him away at night and return him in the morning and just when he started to open his eyes to wake up, he would see them leave out of the corner of his eye. I worked with him. He was a scientist and was not crazy!
Another guy would just see him as he was waking up in the morning and felt them hold him down by his ankles.
Very scared stuff!20 Reply
1 yI was prone to nightmares when I was a little kid. Maybe it's because people around me watch too much horror movies! Haha. I experienced sleep paralysis two times, and I was a child. The worst experience ever. You cannot move or say anything, but you can see everyone. I cried so bad, 'cause I thought I'm just a spirit and can't go back to my body. Lol. That was the time I held onto my life and prayed.
It's the reason I always cuddle something when I sleep, which helped. I also don't shut down all the lights when sleeping. Now I grew up, I barely have any nightmares, thankfully.

1 yIt usually depends on what you call a nightmare. Nightmares are dreams where I’ve been grateful to wake up and realize none of it was real and I’m okay and stay awake a little while longer until I’m not so scared, the last time I had one of those I was about maybe… 9, I would say. It was a nightmare that zombies were invading my house, all my family was already dead and I was just trying to escape, to hide, never really succeeded.
Aside from that, I’ll have bad dreams where I’ll be glad it’s over but go right back to sleep. Those are usually the nights I’m stressed out and dream about wasps and other bugs infesting my house despite my best efforts to get rid of the fuckers, even when they’re as impossibly large as a pig, with the head of a spider. I had one of those dreams a couple of months ago when I was stressing about my finances.
So yeah, I haven’t had a nightmare in years, but I will have plenty of bad dreams.10 ReplyIf I have a dream it's usually meaningful. If a loved one is in the dream/nightmare I end up calling to check in with them.

Charley Morley has been able to cure veterans' PTSD in his LD workshops successfully, usually in just 1 session. Not sure what he does, I forget. He might talk about it in one of his YT videos, but it's something one can learn to do.
