Is this me or the contact lenses?

I have a weird situation going on. I wear contact lenses but recently started wearing a prescription that’s 0.50 stronger in both eyes. when i wear this new prescription, it’s extremely clear, but it’s like too much eye strain to the point where im like lying down all the time doing nothing because it’s overwhelming; like im moving in slow motion because it could be to strong? The other prescription, I’m able to function great except for the fact that it’s blurry from a distance. I don't know if it’s me or it’s the prescription. I also don’t have the feeling of moving like a robot and i’m able to function normally. any thoughts?

Hmm that does sound like a weird situation man. A few things it could be:

- The prescription is actually too strong. Even though it's clearer, going up 0.50 in both eyes at once is a pretty big jump. Could be over-correcting and straining your eyes.

- Your eyes just aren't used to the stronger prescription yet. Sometimes it takes a bit to adjust when things are really crisp and clear all of a sudden after being blurry. Maybe they'll adjust over time.

- Could be something unrelated like allergies or dry eyes making them more sensitive. How's your eye health been otherwise?

I'd maybe go back to your old prescription for now until your next checkup. See if you feel less strained. And talk to your eye doc - they may want to try a more gradual increase instead of 0.50 at once. Better to be a tiny bit blurry than give yourself headaches. Could also ask about using lubricating drops if your eyes are feeling dry. Hope it gets sorted man, weird feeling like a robot for sure!
