Did my therapist not want to work with me anymore?

I did therapy and when I turned 18 they switched me to another company for therapy. When I looked up there website it says they offer adult services. What does this mean?

The therapist for adults is probably different from the therapists for children, even if the business offers adult therapists. Also many hospital workers want their old clients to get outsourced to people unrelated to their job network to protect themselves from piggyback gossip or comparison feedback if the new therapist is better than the old one. I once had a doctor tell me to my face they will never give me a referral because they don’t want me to say bad things about them to their co workers.

Did they maybe just switch you to adult care because the other facility was for child service only? That's super common in the medical world, so maybe it's the same in the psych world. Hell, it might even be the same parent company that owns both. But just different types of specialists.

They obviously should have communicated better tho. Sorry man.

That’s strange. But honestly, they didn’t have the decency to tell you they weren’t qualified to take you on as a therapist moving forward, then good riddens. They’re unprofessional. You deserve a better therapist. You’re just 18, you’re going to encounter a bunch of therapist and you’re going to realize a lot of them are MENTALLY ILL themselves!! I’m not even kidding
