Is it normal to ask for help if you go down with Covid?

One of my concerns was how was I going to care for myself and my dog. My sister would say what do you think other single people do or people with children who are single parents do. I was just asking for assistance caring for my dog while my fever was spiking, head was pounding I never got help most times I took my dog out I was completely disoriented

Man that sounds really rough, having Covid is no joke. I can understand why you were worried about taking care of yourself and your pup if you started feeling really sick. There's nothing wrong with asking for help from family if you need it, especially with something as serious as Covid.

Your sister made a bit of a weird point - just because some people manage on their own doesn't mean you can't ask for assistance if you need it. Most single parents would absolutely look for help from friends or relatives if they got really ill. And it's not like you were expecting them to take care of everything long-term, just while you were at your worst, right?

I don't think it was unfair of you to see if someone could look after your dog for a bit until your fever broke and you were feeling a bit better. Pets are family too. Hopefully if you ever get sick again, your sis or someone else can lend a hand so you don't have to stress about taking care of your pup while you're focused on getting healthy. Don't feel bad about asking - that's what friends and family are for!
