That could be a lot of things starting with tinnitus because of lengthy exposure over years to high volume sound. Tinnitus is there to stay once you have it and there is no cure for it. The damage to the fine hair in the middle ear is permanent. You can have tinnitus in one ear or in both.
But you could also have something more serious called vestibular schwannoma or acoustic neuroma which is a benign tumor growth on the acoustic nerve of the ear. An acoustic neuroma is usually limited to one single ear and an MRI of your head will help determine if you have a vestibular schwannoma.
Whatever it is and if it is persistent, a visit to your GP or ophthalmologist is advisable.
