
How does the timing of exercise (morning, afternoon, evening) influence its effectiveness for different individuals?

It can be highly subjective depending on a persons schedule, preferences, diet, how their body responds, etc.
For instance, I used to workout at night time years ago because it's when I felt the strongest. But that was because I was eating bigger & higher fat meals earlier in the day which would delay digestion & cause me to feel sluggish until they finished.
Now, I prefer to have smaller & still nutrient dense meals early in the day & I time my fat content so that won't slow digestion too much. Then anytime before dinner, I train. By then have had good macro & micro nutrients as well as water intake & lower cortisol levels, etc. And I always eat dinner 3-4+ hours before I sleep.
One major reason I don't workout early in the morning is because I noticed that I move around less during the afterwards due to how hard I train.
I heard that morning was better and that's what I have been doing for over 20 years. A week ago I heard it is better to do it at night

I've found morning exercise the most enjoyable. It keeps me focused. Wakes me up. Generally makes my mood better.
In my experience, you generally want to exercise during the time you're most motivated to do so. In other words, if you're a morning person, try to work out in the morning, etc.
I would think metabolism and current weight / health would be predeterminative
Exercise in the morning always gets my day off to a better start.
I work out in the morning, but the most omportant thing is just doing it.
There are scientific arguments for morning. I try to get hydrated. Get some protein and stretch. Then just masturbate.
