It sucked because I'm a runner. They sell compression socks for that specifically and they worked great for me. Lasted about two months for me, but as I said I'm a runner. If you rest it might heal faster.

Don't recall but it waxes and wanes. Get some really good shoes with orthotics if necessary. Those vibrating foot spas are helpful and so is the lidocaine and menthol pastes. Hope you feel better soon!

Not that simple most of the time. Main causes:

Foot type: Flat feet, high arches, or other foot arch problems
Tightness: Tight calf muscles or Achilles tendon
Shoes: Wearing shoes with poor arch support or soft soles
Activity level: Starting or increasing exercise, especially on hard surfaces
Weight: Being overweight or gaining weight quickly
Age: Most common in people between the ages of 40 and 60
Surface: Running long distances, downhill, or on uneven surfaces
Pronation or supination: Excessive pronation or supination
