in general, you can change everything about yourself... it's just a function of time...

and you have to remember that some things are printed so deeply that the time needed for a change is longer than the human lifespan

so you always have to make your own evaluation... what is a real need, and what is part of your perfectionism :D

Don’t get me wrong but I’m not a big fan of therapy. I believe we learned from our experiences and more often than not it will come to us that we, ourselves understands how we could evolve and be a better person.

I would think so. I'm in therapy right now and I've been told that I'm the perfect avoidant so to speak. But I'm trying to become secure. Not anxious or avoidant. My therapist thinks I'm making progress. So you can change your style too. I hope my answer was clear. I'm a bit buzzed right now. But yeah you most certainly can..

that's what I would ask the therapist, in the first session/consultation...

but, I would think that it is very possible to adjust or change our perception about this, and also our approach to these things as well

I think this really depends on what started the attachment style & when it was developed. More recent ones are easier to change. But any that are largely genetic or started early in life are probably impossible to truly change.

Yes. I used to have a very anxious attachment, but I have a secure attachment style now. Once you get more comfortable with yourself and love yourself more, it’s easier to develop a secure attachment

That's something you might have to ask a doctor. But I would think so if it's an attachment style that can be problematic.

What the stink is "attachment style"? Sending attachments? Being a leech? I don't get it. 🤔

    It is.
But some of us who are deeply problematic, do not even want to go through the process of "fixing" it.

Yes, therapy can provide you with strategies to develop healthier attachment styles, if that is what they are called.

Use reason. If your attachment style isn't working for you, switch up! No therapy needed.

no. therapy is a scam designed to brainwash you into false echo chambers

it won't fix your attachment style, only gaslight you into feeling guilty about it

0 possibly, but since this is a characterological trait, I think it would be exceedingly difficult to really do it.

99% true, but cognitive behavioral therapy can actually "retrain" people's behavior if the patient is genuinely interested in change. Extremely rare though.

@BetaBucks Thank you for your very fair response, personally I'd love to be paid $100 per hour to hear people's dirty secrets lol,,,

In UK they usually only take cash, I wonder why?
