Ever had acne and did it clear up?

I’ve never had acne BUT I’ve had it now for the past 2 months 🥲

I went to the doctors for it and I was prescribed an antimicrobial cream. It’s working a little bit but I’m still constantly breaking out and it’s leaving scarring.

It’s been quite upsetting because I previously had really nice skin. I’m worried the acne won’t clear up but the doctor said it’s not so bad and it should in 12 weeks time. I’m also worried about the scarring :(

All my young life, I HATED getting a bath, mostly because it always burned the hell out of my eyes when I got soap in them! So, I would only take a bath MAYBE once a week!! Well into high school!! I NEVER had a zit or even a blackhead!! This one kid had zits ALL OVER his face!! He looked like pizza!! Red with yellow spots.
About a year or two after high school, I started getting a shower at least every other day. THAT'S when I started getting zits!! I had them EVERYWHERE. On my face, my shoulders, arms, thighs, ass cheeks, neck and all over my back! Sometimes, it was hard to sit because of the zits. In some cases, I had to have mom try to pop them for me because I couldn't reach the ones on my back in certain places.
I had one monster zit on the side of my neck. I could pop it and would squeeze all the pus out of it and, a week or two later, it filled back up, again!! Another one like that on each of my hips! Those eventually went away on their own after accidentally popping them a couple times but, the one on my neck, I had to go to the ER and have them get rid of it for me. They gave me Novocain then got a scalpel and sliced it open and cut up the sac inside. They filled it with gauze and put tape over that and I had to change it every so often `til it was healed.
All the zits from my face, arms, neck and chest are gone but I still get an occasional blackhead on me somewhere. For some reason, I keep getting these larger zits on my inner thighs right below my crotch, I still have a field of blackheads across my lower back and one huge zit (like the one on my neck) in the middle that seems to have solidified over the years. I've tried to pop it and nothing happens, and I get a few tiny blackheads on my chest and shoulders every great once in a while and there's one huge blackhead on my shoulder that's been there for decades. I HAVE been able to empty most of it out from time to time, I'd get this solid yellow clump out of it but, it took a LOT of squeezing to get it to come out. The more that came out, the lighter in colour it got. Well, now, there's a crater there with a semi-solid glob of something in it but I just never get the chance to try to squeeze it out. Every time I'm about to get a shower, I forget to have at it or I just don't have the time to bother.
And, sometimes, I'll get one on the cheek of my ass, too. A literal pain in the ass `til it either pops, gets popped by me or just goes away.
And, there used to be a zit on one of my shoulders on the side that i popped decades ago and the hole never went away. It's still there and I can even stick a solid strand of spaghetti into it and hardly even feel it. Not that I ever do that, I'm just saying that I COULD and just leave it there sticking out of me. I suppose that's what this other crater will be if I even get that gunk out of it.
I remember mentioning zits to grandma back when she was in her 60's and she said she still gets them every so often!

I had a mild case of acne as a teenager. Started just before puberty. I washed my face frequently, and used some anti-acne cream, which kept it mild. It basically cleared up on its own by the time I turned 18.

I would get a pimple, or two... once in a while... during my early teens, but that was it

but not that much for it to be called acne, lol

You changed your face soap, makeup, or shampoo, that may be the problem

Not at all! And previously my skin was never sensitive I could use whatever it didn’t matter :(

If you are all stressed out over something or having any medical problems, that can cause it. Or an allergic reaction. Some prescription drugs can also cause it, too

I was spared thankfully. Had some minor outbreaks in HS but that's it.

There's a plethora of help to be had for it though. Doctors can prescribe a skincare strategy.

Fortunately I never had acne on my face but did have some of it on my back. Went to a dermatologist that helped me get rid of it.
