Do you believe as the Harvard Longitude study suggests that your relationships are the greatest predictor of your health, longevity and success?

I know a guy who graduated from Tsinghua which is 5,000 times more difficult to get into than Harvard for Chinese Citizens. It is the top school in China. He did his graduate degree in Canada in the hopes of becoming a Canadian citizen but because he was in his 40s when he came to Canada, he could never pick up the English language and ended up working minimum wage or doing self employed jobs with no business background. Due to his financial situation, he only had around 4 friends. He died from self inflicted smoking habits caused by his depression and inability to cope with pain and stress. He was 80 when he died, so he still had a long lifespan, but the last few years of his life were very painful and hard for him.
