My situation is court mandated I had to get evaluated and they decided to put me I. A group therapy program that is unrelated to drugs and alcohol. I did get arrested for drinking a while back and this is my last step before court dismisses the case. Although in the class drugs and alcohol are brought up, it’s majorly about seeking safety, ptsd, etc. I had a horrible ex boyfriend who was abusive during the time of me getting in trouble with the law. I’m a first time offender so they offered me this program to get it cleared off my record. I was never told by the judge or any court employee that I was on probation or couldn’t drink. This therapy class I’m in my therapist told everyone if we’re court mandated we have to give 2 urine samples a month. As we all know it was recently Thanksgiving. I did drink with family, and it was my dad’s birthday Tuesday so he drove us to dinner and we had some cocktails. I’m a small girl high metabolism. I went to my class this week she told me to take my first urine test by tomorrow (Friday) I have been freaking out ever since. I’ve drank nothing but water to try and hydrate up. I am worried I won’t pass because I’ve been told it can take up to 80 hours. Some people have told me if it’s over 30 hours I should be fine. I am just confused on what will happen if I do test positive, being that I am not on probation and was never told I have to abstain from drinking. I know that’s the smartest thing to do right now but with the holiday season it’s a little hard, I like to enjoy myself. If anyone has been through something similar please let me know your thoughts

Whoa girl, that's a pretty crazy situation you're dealing with! I can totally understand why you're feeling so stressed and worried about this urine test. That's a lot of pressure, especially with the holidays and everything.
First off, I just want to say that I really admire you for taking this therapy program seriously and trying to get your record cleared. That's super responsible and mature of you, especially given the messy situation with your ex. You're clearly working hard to get your life on track, and that's awesome.
As for the urine test, I know it can be really confusing and nerve-wracking when you're not even on probation or technically required to abstain from drinking. It sucks that they're springing this on you so suddenly, especially right after the holidays.
From what I've heard, the detection window for alcohol can vary a lot depending on factors like your metabolism, how much you drank, etc. Some people say 30 hours is fine, others say it can take up to 80. It's kinda a crapshoot.
My advice would be to just keep hydrating like crazy and maybe even look into some natural diuretics like cranberry juice or green tea. That might help flush out your system a bit faster. And try not to stress too much - worrying won't change the outcome.
If you do end up testing positive, I really don't think they can do much since you're not technically on probation. Just be honest with your therapist about the situation and see if you can work something out. Explain that you were never told not to drink, and that you're just trying to get your life back on track.
Hopefully they'll understand and be willing to work with you. You're putting in the effort, and that should count for something. Just stay strong and keep advocating for yourself. You got this, girl! Let me know how it goes.
