Question

Officials have gone public with the fact that alcohol is a leading cause of cancer? This has been known for decades but somehow it was not publicized. Maybe the booze industry has good lobbyists.

Doctors now say that alcohol is the third leading cause of preventable cancers just behind smoking and obesity. They want to put warning labels on alcohol.

I call bullshit. Europeans and others drink wine and beer on a daily basis. Are they dropping dead from cancer?

There are even studies about the health benefits of wine when consumed in moderation.

Are these "officials" who went public the same ones who recommended the experimental, covid, eugenics jab? And what are they saying about other harmful pharmaceuticals or agricultural chemicals in our food?

I'm in an adjustment phase , and have decreased consumption a great deal , we have had a few absolute ex drunks here , completely give it up , really I'd love to do that , with or without these recent revelations' that we knew already..

My absolute goal would be to be free of booze , I hate the role it plays in Australian culture , I hate how many bars we have in Hua Hin , and I hate being in a room of drunks , its a dangerous drug in so very many ways , and far too socially acceptable.

Thailand has a drinking problem , but nothing like Australia's problem , where even the National cricket team will say " Ohh I'm sure we'll celebrate with a few quiet ones " ( what does that even mean? ) Its a frightening product , and as an ex tour pro from Auss used to say " Idiot Soup " , I think thats a reasonable analogy , we need to learn to live without it.

I'd say to younger people than myself , and I appreciate you cannot work to the reverse of a negative , " Dont even bother with it , because it will give you nothing back " .

I'm somewhat tempted, honestly. It prevents me from really thinking and performing at my best. I can tell it impacts my overall mental health though. And there's a bunch of empty calories in alcohol. Not forgetting the monetary cost of drinking.

Plus, the lady I've been getting closer with recently doesn't drink. I don't get the impression that she cares if I drink because I don't get sloppy or anything. I do enjoy the occasional beer or glass of wine with my meal. She just doesn't join me... which makes it kind of awkward, but it doesn't particularly bother me.

So there's the health side and the personal relationship side... I don't really have much of a reason to drink and I have several reasons not to.

Either way, it's a pretty low priority decision for me.

This reminds me of an old joke: "I heard you aren't drinking any more. . . but I also heard that you aren't drinking any less!"

Ignoring a drop of wine at weekly communion, I drink very little. I don't drink more than one mixed drink if we go out, because I am always the one who drives us. And I rarely drink at home. I may have one mixed drink per month. So, I think my risk is rather minimal.

my daughter just had less than a 1/4 glass of wine 🍷 for dinner 😂 she turned all red and just know alcohol is not her friend… we have no worries with her getting drunk in college.

99% of my friend group, close family members don’t drink alcohol.
my brother in law is French so he always has his wine.
other than that … I would say… some cut back is healthy … social drinking is healthier than

drinking privately, then go behind wheels…

I support more Strict regulations in this area.

never started, I did not like that scene... drunk humans cause a lot of damage. I'll drink a sip like the french and Jesus.

What will become of country music and road signs? just don't sound the same "My horse ran off, so I'm sittin' here drinkin' tofu smoothie til the sun comes up..."

A little booze exercises the liver.

Red wine is encouraged but the causes of cancer are not known.

People with cancer drank booze but that does not mean it was caused...

All divorced people got married... get it?

Of course we need to limit how much "water we change into wine" ! Not drink it like water!
