Is a surgery worth having even if it could permanently paralyze you?

That's up to the patient, doctors, and (if applicable) the patients legal guardians to decide.

I had spine surgery as a child, and while the risk of paralysis was very low, it was still there. It was up to me and my parents (with advice from doctors) to decide if the surgery was worth the risk. As it should be.

Mine falls under cosmetic. I can’t find a surgeon who will agree to do it. They probably don’t want a risk of lawsuit. Thanks for answering.

Back. It involves many screws and multiple titanium rods. I just look in the mirror one day and not see a huge hump. No one else probably thinks anything of it, but I do.
