All this added up hurts me a lot and with this death it really hurt me a lot. I take pills to help me sleep, nobody knows.
But I'm thinking that maybe I should go and see a shrink, but I feel like that makes me weak.

... The old concept of "strength", opposed to "weakness". What is strength?
I've seen "strong" people, that is, people appearing as strong. To me, they are people lacking in mental, psychological agility. For some reason, life taught them that strength is about rigidity, in their psychology, strength is a fortress. Which means no one comes in and nothing comes out.
You can still view yourself as "strong" if you wish, if that is precious for your own image of yourself, the option is still on the table. Plus, you have pills, no one knows, as you said. When that shame to be weak will start to be manageable, between you and yourself, then... Shrinks, since you're in France I presume, quelques infos, basiques, mais essentielles pour survivre dans la jungle psy:
Bonne chance ! 🍀
No but just don't think they have magic wands is all. It is quite possible that therapist A and therapist B have the same approach but B puts it better for you than A does or that B followed by A makes it click.
I don't have much experience but a couple of years ago I was opening the front door of my apartment block and suddenly a guy was assaulting me. That mucked me up for a while. Victims of crime counseling did really help me and the counselor was just right for me. There are some online services where you can swap counselors easily till you find the right one.
This doesn't make you weak. I think you should. Being too strong can make it harder for you.
If you don't mind me saying, loss is hard to deal with. It has helped me to focus on what they were to me rather than on them not being there anymore.
No, not at all. What’s weak is thinking you’re too good to go to the doctor.

No. It shows that you are taking steps to stay strong in the face of your adversity. I wish you well in your journey.
No, it doesn't make you weak. It is self care.
It really helps to talk things through. Doing so helps you figure out what is happening subconsciously.
A shrink can ask questions that prompt you to dig deep. You can discover things that would never occur to you on your own.
They can empathize and give you advice on how to get back on track.
You don't even need a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists often try to prescribe drugs. And you don't need mind altering drugs. You don't have a chemical imbalance, you are just going through a really rough patch.
A good counselor will do just as well.
I wish you the best. You are understandably overwhelmed, but you can pull through this.
Okay- I am a guy that always thought that if a guy saw a shrink it meant he was a wussy. I have had a change of heart. I found that I was depressed a few years ago. I ended up talking to my doctor about it while i had my yearly physical. He really took my concerns seriously and explained that there was a lot of it going on because of Covid. People were isolated and confused. Maybe they were unemployed or maybe somebody they knew had died. He said if Covid never happened I would jus be living my life and teaching my students. Just knowing that I was not the only one going through this helped me a lot.
It doesn't make you weak. Losing people you love is traumatic, nothing can prepare you for it. If you don't know how to deal with it then there's nothing wrong with talking to somebody who may know. Everybody grieves in different ways. My mom died when I was 20, my grandma when I was 32, and my dad when I was 41. My brother is all have left. If he goes before I do, I might just settle some old scores and then check myself out. I always have a shot of whiskey and drink a beer and then smoke weed before bed. The weed keeps me from having nightmares. Daily exercise helps, too. If I really can't sleep, I go to the store and buy a bottle of brandy. Just don't drink with those sleeping pills, you don't want to go out like Jimi Hendrix.
And my dad died I just laid in bed and rotted for like a week and did a lot of drinking. Eventually I had to get my ass up I start living my life again, and that's what he would have wanted. Your loved ones would have wanted you to keep moving forward and make a good life for yourself. Do it to make them proud, and do it for yourself
IT ABSOLUTLY DOES NOT MAKE YOU WEAK! There is nothing wrong with getting assistance when trying to get your life together and become a better version of yourself. Why would working towards personal goals and trying to grow and heal as a person be shameful?
No greater lie or problem in health care is the socital perception that mental health is a personal weakness or failing. No one give you a hard time for seeking treatment for strep throat. I hate blaming the patient personal responsibility has its place in healthcare mental health is not one. in my opinion
Not at all if it didn’t hurt I would be more worried about you…. It can take some time to find someone whose a good fit. Someone who wants to genuinely listen to you and isn’t trying to push 200 drugs down your thought but they aren’t all bad at all
No! You're trying to help yourself to be a better person. If anything, it'll make you stronger! I tired to tell this to my ex-fiance but, she never bothered to do it and now, she let her "psychosis" (for lack of a better word), get the best of her and flush our wonderful relationship.
Absolutely not. Everyone, no matter who tough they are, needs counseling at some point or another.
Seeing a psychiatrist is like seeing any other doctor. It’s not weak. It’s smart if you need that sort of medical advice.
From time to time we all need a little help & if you seek help you are not weak you are strong because subconsciously you know you need help & you are the one seeking it.
Nothing wrong with being weak. But a lot of it is just talking and acknowledging the emotions there. Nothing weak about that. It takes strength to acknowledge and deal with a problem.
Absolutely not, if anything I think it means you’re strong. It means you have enough self awareness and good judgement to realize that you might be overwhelmed and that you could use a hand. I applaud anyone who seeks help, we need more of this!
No, that doesn’t make you weak at all. It’s healthy to get your thoughts out there in that way
Sleep deprivation can be terrible seeking help with your grief and anything else you may be going through is do important and never weak especially if ig helps you yo be stronger.
It'll make you STRONG because of your recognition of the need to attend to your mental as well as physical health.
No it makes you strong to admit you need some help, but also makes you gullible for all the psychobabble they come out with to keep you coming back!!!

Has it ever made anybody weak?
Nope. There's nothing weak about facing your demons.
WEAK? Are you joking? It makes you STRONG!! Yes!!! Go!!!
No those people are there to help guide you through healing
I think so, in my opinion nobody cares about you, but will pretend to for a price
No. I've done it. It helped.
I don't know about weak, but it can make you broke, insurance does not pay for psychiatric treatment.
That makes you matured enough to realize you need help
No it takes strength admitting you need help.
It does not. It makes you smart.
The people that I treat, including many veterans, often go through years with terrible debilitating symptoms that could have been treated a lot earlier. When they finally get to me, I can usually help them to feel a lot better in a few months, and after a year or more, they usually are almost symptom-free. "Almost" because combat-induced PTSD never really goes completely away, but it does get to the point of being tolerable. If these people had not seen me or someone like me, they would probably still be miserable IF they were still with us at all.
(If you really want to know why it never completely leaves, ask me about that)
No, it makes you strong and changes you for the better.
Nope just the opposite
It couldn’t hurt
No not at all.
Not at all, but I don't trust shrinks
makes you smart
No it doesn't, it can only help you.
