Who is the toughest person that you know?

I have been thinking about mental toughness and how to get it. I have heard athletes like Tom Brady talk about it. I thought about people that I knew that were tough. When I was younger I knew a guy who was from Israel. He was the manager of the gym I worked out in, He did not look like a bodybuilder but he was tough. He was in the Israeli Army and I sort of always had the feeling he could kill you with his bare hands.

He was around 50 years old and no much to look at and was not wealthy by any means but he had some really hot girlfriends. He was a really interesting guy however. He told us that he used to go in a sauna and then roll in the snow afterwards. So one Sunday after we had snow the night before myself and three other guys went in the sauna and then as naked as we could be went out the back door and rolled around in the snow.

There's this one guy I know who will never start something and is the nicest guy ever but holy cow he's tough as nails. He's not "stupid" tough either, he's smart tough. Trains and works out a bunch and works his tail off at work. He's the toughest guy I know I think.

As far as mental toughness goes, you really just have to believe it. That's a bad explanation but yeah. When I was in my teens I genuinely believed that I could beat anyone at football. Somehow that helped me have "that dog" in me and I trained my ass off and would play at 100% while spitting blood. Was I delusional? Yes. Was I right that I could beat anyone on the field? Also yes, lol, and I proved it repeatedly. I'm not that guy anymore though.

All the grandparents I would say. Going through the war and its aftermath and still becoming decent, stable and healthy people could not have been easy.

When I was in highschool, we moved to Miami and our new neighbor was an NHL player. He was big and would fight lol I saw him play twice and that was enough. He was actually a great guy but was pretty nasty when he played, I didn't like that.

The toughest person I know is my mother in law. She is 82 years old, she has 2 really bad knees. She walks with a cane. She walks a mile, 4 times a week to her job that she's been at for 27 years. She's on her feet all day and then walks home. She has not missed a days work in 15 years. That's some tough cookie in my book
