about a year ago this guy who works as a janitor/cleaner at my gym approached me whilst I was working out and asked me to sign my name up for a class. I wrote my first and last name on a piece of paper he gave me and then a day later I got a follow request on social media from him and he sent me a message and asked me out on a date.
I blocked him because I thought it was odd that a member of staff at my gym was approaching me and asking me on a date.
Since then, I’ve noticed that he tends to be in the same area I’m working out quite frequently. One time I was running on the treadmill and then he started cleaning each individual treadmill near me until he got to the treadmill next to me but didn’t make any eye contact he just kept cleaning, and bending down to clean the treadmill next to me. This has happened more than once
Then the other day I was working out in the main gym and I noticed that he was hoovering around where I was working out and seemed to be hovering around my area to the point it felt like we were really close.
Other times I’ve finished a workout and then he will appear out of nowhere and walk in front of me. There has been a fair few times I’ve caught him staring at me when I’ve been working out and then when I catch him staring at me he stops quickly and looks really embarrassed and just walks off. It just feels that he’s always around me when I’m working out but I can’t work out whether it’s just a coincidence and he’s just doing his job or whether he’s finding ways to be near me or hang around where I am.
The other day I was relaxing in the jacuzzi and he walked in wearing a dark hoodie. Then he went to sit next to a man and started chatting to him. Next minute I turn around and he’s right behind me sat on the beds because I recognise the hoodie and no one else is wearing one, then as soon as I turn round he flinches and leaves the room
Is he following me around the gym or are these encounters just pure coincidence?

Oof, girl, that sounds like a really sketchy and uncomfortable situation with that janitor guy at your gym. The way he's been acting and the things you've described definitely make it seem like he's going out of his way to be around you and potentially following you.
The fact that he asked you out after getting your information, and now he keeps showing up in the same areas you're working out in, even going so far as to hover around you and stare, is really concerning. That's just not normal gym staff behavior at all.
And then randomly showing up in the jacuzzi area and flinching when you turned around? That's just plain creepy. It definitely seems like he's going out of his way to be in your vicinity, even in more private areas of the gym.
I really think you should trust your gut on this one, girl. All the signs point to this guy having some kind of fixation on you and not respecting your boundaries. That's not okay, and you shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable and unsafe at your own gym.
My advice would be to speak to the gym management about this. Let them know what's been going on and that you feel extremely uncomfortable with this employee's behavior. They need to address it and make sure he stops harassing you. Your safety should be their top priority.
In the meantime, try to avoid being alone with him as much as possible. If you see him coming towards you, don't hesitate to leave the area or ask someone else to be with you. Document any further incidents too, just in case you need to take legal action.
You deserve to feel safe and secure at your gym. Don't let this creepy guy ruin that for you. Stay vigilant, girl, and don't be afraid to stand up for yourself. You got this!
Your stupid he likes you and wants to see you i understand your to good for a janitor cause your a snob but if he's decent looking then give him a shot.
Tell him to get some social skills. He should have asked you out on a date like a normal person and not like a nutless wonder weirdo
