Hard to put a number on it, but I’d say I’m pretty tough. Actually just scratched the back of my leg on a stick when I was fishing a couple hours ago, and like 15 minutes later it was itchy, and I went to scratch it and I was bleeding pretty profusely, haha.
Back in my heyday, Iplayed (American) football, and that’s not really a game for softies. But these days I play hockey, and I can actually show in a sequence of gifs my pain tolerance. I can access the rink cameras and record all my mishaps, lmao.
So, I had one tough season about a year ago. This one game, I got high-sticked in the jaw. Couldn’t clench my teeth for a few days and I definitely had a concussion. I popped up and threw my gloves off, looking to fight, but immediately was like “wait, my jaw might be broken”, lmfao. But I ended up getting up and staying on the ice for the rest of my shift …
I’m #44 in white for all of these Tried to fight the guy later, despite the bad jaw, but he wouldn’t go with me🙄😂 But I stayed in the game and went full throttle, is the point.
Wouldn’t answer the bell🙄😒 Then I had an awkward fall in a pick-up game not long after that…
Caught a rut in the ice😖😖😖 I got right up and kept playing, but my back really started hurting the next day, and I had to sort of straighten up my back in sections when I stood up. Got an X-ray and the doctor said I didn’t break a vertebrae, but there were definite signs of trauma, and two of the vertebrae were “smushed together”, I think from swelling.
So I was directed to not play for 4-6 weeks….. but the playoffs started that night😅 So I just pretended to myself that I went to the doctor the next day, and didn’t know yet, and played in my game that night😂
I ended up scoring the (eventually) game winning goal😎 Barely made it. And my team knew I was really hurt, so they appreciated it…
Painful goal, lmao You can see I have trouble standing up after I scored. The last teammate who came up to me made me laugh, with a reference to the old movie “Babe”….”That’ll do, Steve. That’ll do.”😂😂😂
So…. its pretty high. Not invincible or anything, although I like to delude self into believing I am, haha. More than anything, I just don’t like missing out on things I like to do, so I do them anyway, no matter how much pain I’m in😂

I'm indestructible according to my brain. I once shattered my ankle in a game of football and hobbled off saying I'll be back in the second half but didn't. I drove home and ater that night I attended a dinner dance ceilidh with all the regalia on, had a few swings with the lassies and drank 1 pint of Guinness and that made things so much better I carried on to the disco after.
Next day sometime in the night my ankle swelling grew to a grapefruit size and I couldn't put any weight on it so called my father to pick me up and take me to the hospital. Had to get metal screws to rebuild it along with the surgery of a spinal injection turning my legs into body sausages I could see touch but not move or feel.
Good times.
Played a half of rugby with a broken collar bone as well as multiple times with cracked ribs.
So let's say 12

I have a high pain tolerance. High enough that nurses have ignored my requests for pain meds because I seemed so "calm".

I think it really depends in the body part. I broke my foot and didn't even know I did it. Conversely I fell off the roof and hurt my back and the pain from that brought me to my knees.
I've had nurses tell me I have a high pain tolerance but they probably just say that.😆 I think my pain tolerance lies mainly in how well I'm able to push it our of my mind. Also there's temporary vs. chronic pain. I think most people can handle any amount of pain so long as they know it's temporary.

Not very good and the worst pain i ever had was when i overstretched my shoulder and that was probably a solid 8 it was so bad i had to take showers with my left hand and eat with my left hand and even when i walked i had to support my right hand with my left hand. The worst of the pain did eventually subside after 3 days but even a year later i still get mild pain. I was lucky i was on vacation at the time because i probably would not be able to go to work for a couple days lol.

I can handle a bit of pain but lots i can't... a study about heat showed consistently, that women couldn't handle the same pain that men handled , so i find it funny how men like me wrote medium numbers, here, while women wrote "high" lol.

Maybe 7 out of 10. I once walked out of a mountain range with 2 broken arms (both elbows). 3 days. About 25 miles. 55 pound pack on my back. In a war zone. Alone. You find ways.
In my defense, I didn't know my arms were broken. I thought they were just badly sprained.

For instance having my head cracked open hurts a lot enough to get me yelling and cursing. But having my head stapled back together with a staple gun with no pain meds really doesn't hurt just feels like your getting pinched. I didn't even so much as make a noise while they were doing it.

I put a lot of effort into writing my last experiences and pain level into Chatgpt and it came up with 8.5/10.
I handle external pain really well, but when it comes to internal pain like gas pains or getting sick, I turn into a little bitch10 Reply - 1 mo

broken my foot, with 12 screws and some metal in my leg.
10 Reply 1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I'm a baby about small pain like a paper cut but I've broken my foot twice now and didn't feel it at all so I guess it depends on the type of pain
10 ReplyI'd say probably about an 8. Sometimes I think I have nerve damage, 'cause most things that are supposed to hurt don't really feel that bad. 🤷♂️
10 Reply1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. 9 I guess, my pain tolerance is pretty high, one time I went to the doctor and when he checked what I had he was shocked I got along with it for so long with not much pain.
