Have you given blood before? I am getting lots of calls to come in to give blood at the blood center. I gave once and they keep you on their computer. Last time I was there, I was pricked more than twice because the lady in taking blood wasn't good at finding a vein. I'm not feeling well so I can't give now. I am AB-- You?

AB+, they are relentless with the calls when the 8 weeks required to wait is almost over and you haven't scheduled the next one. Then they usually want us AB types to do the platelet donations instead since they can get more from us.

They can get more platelets for type AB? I didn't know that. Is that a longer procedure? When I did mine, it was taking so long, because the woman said my blood was :thick" or sluggish. So after a while, she stopped and I was only able to give a little. SO I need to go back and drink more water this time before going.

Platelets are over 2 hours I think and you need an appointment and they stop them at 1 or 2 PM. That's why I never could do it.

I'm O- and yes, I donate double reds.

Double red donations so that I don't need to donate as often and also I don't feel as "blah" afterwards as I would with a full blood donation.
